Opinions please - 7300 for a 2007 100HP with skydome and 14 and a half K on it - good? bad? Should I haggle? What for? Also - anybody had any experience rolling with a glass roof? Is it any worse than a standard roof? Myself and wife are both just under 6ft. Will we fit in with the skydome?

Too much IMHO. We paid £7500 for an 09 plate with just 300 miles on it in December. No skydome though.

Five weeks ago I bought a new one for 7495 + 250 for red paint + 500 for skydome total 8245
Cheapest new I think would be 8195 + 235 + 550 total 8980
A dealer not too far from me is still trying to sell a 2008/58 with 7800 miles for 6995 but it's been on forecourt for at least 4 months.
Being short not really sure if the skydome really affects headroom though others say it does but best way it to have a sit in it. It's lovely to have the extra light and even to open it a crack to get some fresh air.

I'm selling my 08 plate 100hp for £6200 at the mo, not had any interest what so ever. No dealers would even give me a price to take it.

Best offer i've had is £5500 from somone off eBay or £5000 from webuyanycar.com

Seems expensive compared with:

Perry's Aylesbury: new price £7995
Perry's Aylesbury: 58 reg 9000 miles £7994
Fiatsupasaver: new price £8195

with all the bad weather I expect dealers will be desparate for a sale so haggle hard.

Looking at the Perrys site it says that price of 7995 includes a scrappage discount, if so what's the price without.

Skydome is worth £500. Take this into account and the car's worth £6800. Plenty of grey HPs but not many with skydomes unless I'm missing something? Thoughts?

OK, I know this is probably well off topic by now, but next question, how many of you out there have grey (or blue) HPs with the skydome?

Right - anyone had any dealings with Fiat Direct? I'm struggling to get anywhere so far as discout goes. (n) I'm not exactly an experienced haggler, but they're using the skydome and the fact that it's approved used as excuses for not dropping the price and some nonsense about a policy that doesn't allow them to give discount, but the car looks to have been on the forecourt 2 months already nearly according to e-bay listing of it and they've admitted to being quiet the past two weeks. :bang: There's only one other car I can find with a skydome (newer, but more expensive and it's black) so I'm pretty keen to get this one - it's got the dome and it's the right colour, but not going for it if everyone thinks it's too expensive. Does anyone know of any other grey 100HPs for sale with skydomes right now? Or any colour for that matter! There's one at Fiat Direct and another one at Perry's. Any others to compare against (nationwide)?

Their bottom line now is £7248. I tried for free delivery, I tried for 0% finance, I tried for a tank of fuel, I tried comapring it with other cars, I tried highlighting the fact the car's been on the forecourt for ages, I tried highlighting that it doesn't beat Halfords' valuation.... :shakehead: Anything else to try? Is it still too expensive? I really want this car! It's the right colour, the mileage isn't high, it's still within warranty, it's got the skydome, it's in the approved used scheme.... I'm just not convinced I'll get another grey HP with a skydome this side of buying a new one. Or maybe? What does anybody think?

:yeahthat:
We too have the same problem with purchasing yet another Fiat, colour and more importantly PRICE !!!
We refuse to pay a grand over the odds for what another dealer has on offer for the same year model, whether it be an 07 or 08.
As Queeny says, spend a bit more, have more warranty, and get exactly what you want or, you will probably end up regretting purchasing it & giving in to these poxy dealers.(n)

Haggling is about agreeing a price both parties are happy with. You clearly think it's still overpriced, so walk away, make them sweat!

Its the old heart v head thing, your heart has already 'bought' the car but the head says no. I've done the same, although you think this is the one, in reality there are loads of other cars out there, bide your time.

There are far more cars for sale than there are buyers right now but 2nd hand prices are crazy at the mo - dealers trying to make more money on fewer sales.

I would try and get a new one, I only paid £7650 for a new white 100hp from Perrys (collected Nov 09). OK it's white with no options but it was new. At least I know it has not been thrashed (not including the short thrashing the guys that load the trains or ships etc give new cars)

You haven't said if you have a trade in or not. It does seem that it would be best to go for new given the price difference and it would have three years warranty on it.

seeing the prices my local dealers wanted and having looked under one and seen the signs of a rear end shunt and others that had trim falling off and marked paintwork decided to buy a new one and get the warranty. When I ordered mine in September the difference between new and a year old was a few hundred, curiously some dealers were asking more second hand than I was paying new - though I suppose if you want it right away then you have to pay the price.
I did pay the extra for the skydome, I don't necessarily expect to get the money back when I sell but hoping it will be easier to sell and it was what I wanted - some of the benefits of open air motoring but without the draughts.

TDQ,RB,MB: I'm thinking new from Perry's is the way to go.

S101: I've got two cars to get rid of, a 57 20K low spec Aygo and a 54 130K high spec Fabia, but I'm thinking I'll get rid of them myself rather than trading in unless anybody has contrary opinions on this?

SA: Still keen on skydome myself. I'd be interested to hear your opinion on it now you've had it for a bit.
