The passenger seat on my Panda appears "dirty" after my wife put her wet coat on it. Does anyone have any experience of the best way to clean the seats or what product to use?

Alternatively, I would welcome any advice on which mobile valeting company is best to use to clean such marks.

The seat is not actually dirty but look stained because of the water mark. My wife tried cleaning with a damp cloth but this has not helped.

Any advice is appreciated.

I found a steam cleaner very good at removing water marks from the very pale cream part of the seat in my Panda Cross.

... and my Vax carpet cleaner works a treat too (using the little wash nozzle which is I believe especially for cleaning upholstery with) on the red and grey seats in my 4x4

I had a small water mark on my door card a while back and a quick blast with my steam cleaner cleared it. My steam cleaner costs far too much money though unless you're going to use it for other things.

A wet vac with extraction is a great thing to own though. I got a Vax from Makro for approx £35 which would normally cost over £100, but that was a while back so they probably haven't got them now. The extraction feature just means that it will squirt liquids as well as suck it up. Some wet wet vacs will only suck, which makes it a lot more difficult. I cleaned my seat recently after sitting on a sweet and then sitting in my car. I sprayed the seat with Meguiars carpet and interior cleaner, and then scrubbed it gently with an upholstery brush. I then went over with the hoover squirting warm water and sucking, then switched off the water to help dry it. By the morning my seat was almost dry and looking like new. If it's just water marks you might be able to get away without a cleaner and just use warm water. You can use these vacs for lots of things though - cleaning mats, cleaning carpets and cleaning sofas etc.

I personally use AutoGlym Interior Shampoo, spary on, agitate and wipe off. Works a treat. Don't buy form Halfords though, far too overpriced. I pay £4 a bottle from a local wholesalers.

We had the whole car diamond brite'd which they tell me will stop any sort of water marks and stains... so if I get any... there will be some point at the paper work.. !

Exactly that.

The other excellent Autoglym product you could use is Fabric Hood Cleaner. In the trade range this exact same product is known as Fabric Stain Remover and has a biological action that is great at removing greasy marks etc. However, for water marks, INterior Shampoo should do the trick.

Me too on the blue seats on my Panda Active (which are notorious for showing up EVERYTHING). Interior looked like new once finished and dried
