General My Pandas have landed today...

Hi Bedbug

5 years ago I got a Panda from Forwards (Kevin) I hadn't ordered a rear middle child seat belt but the car arrived with it Kevin then of course had to charge me or I would have had to wait another 6weeks for another car so we ended up going halves on the price.
Whether this was his fault (which I doubt as my cars come through the motability system) or Fiats I don't know.

The car I've got at the moment a Smart from MB Liverpool the original salesman didn't even put the order in 3months before! it wasn't until I checked that everything was ok I found this out 3weeks prior to picking up the car then they were running round trying to find the model I wanted!

So dealers manufacturers are all sometimes a pain in the bum, that said I've had no trouble with Nissan or Vauxhall dealers in the past.
Not a fan of Ford cars so can'nt comment on them.

Will let you know when I get my Electroclashgrey/RedBL 1.2 Eglanza DL this waiting is driving me nuts, mines been on order since 2nd October.

We all make mistakes, but big ticket items like cars should have a little more care taken by the dealer and manufacturer I think...probably the dealers don't feel they are making enough on each car (FIAT taking lions share) so the care might be lacking.

The interiors are much of a muchness to me, I had duff information from my original dealer regarding the interior - ordered a sand/black one...then I was told by the original dealer that FIAT have dropped the coloured interiors and it would now be all black (maybe true for the active but not the dynamic I think) - when it arrives it turns out one is sand/grey and the other is blue/grey (the dealer who is picking up the pieces has interpreted the nearest thing to the non existant black written on the order form.) So I didn't get what I ordered, and rejecting it might involve a long wait - I need a car for work.

I think dealers expect you to just swallow all kinds of mistakes, lack of product knowledge and extra costs like it's normal.

On a brighter note, you might get lucky, as my order only went in on the 1st October - even though I originally ordered on 6 August and 26 August...:)

Andypandy....one of my Pandas is now ready to collect! (whoopdidoo!)

Not sure I want it now though after all the original dealer shenanigans :) Going to pick it up on Saturday, can barely contain my excitement...well ok I can.

It won't come with a key/immobiliser code (even though the owners pack will say it does...hmmmm) as I'm told FIAT keep all these on computer...hmmm - I guess that would be the "another £15 to Mr FIAT when you need your code" computer...

Yeah they don't come with the key code for security reasons.

Something insurance companies have supposidly asked them to do.

I'd ask for a copy of it though if your able to (y)

I was told it was because the owners tend to lose them, I'll ask for a copy when I go to collect...perhaps they'll be more accommodating when I've got my debit card out :D

I've never lost a set of car keys yet.

If you do get the code register it with the ISR. That way you don't need to keep a copy with you but you will always be able to retrieve the code with 1 phonecall.

You lucky devil Bedbug just log-in to see your posting; will give Kevin a 'ring' to see whats happening with mine?

Have fun on Saturday.

one reason for not supplying the codes is that most people would leave the card in the car with the handbook. The handbook tells you how to by pass the security system so long as you know the code (yes you'd still have to get past the steering lock and do something with the wiring). Hired a car in Greece this summer with all the codes in the glove box.
But thanks for the link to retainagroup - now I know what I'm supposed to do with those stencils that came with the car - might even do it if I had the special liquid to paint on them.

Recieved phone call from Kevin this afternoon... my car is in the Uk and he should have it ready for me Monday 14th, which as the children would say 11 more sleeps!(y)

Have to say I almost feel guilty about moaning on the delivery time (4 months) when I read all the furious customers posts on the fiat official forum who've been bumped because of the popularity of scrappage.

Collected my new My Eleganza 1.2 DL on Monday delighted;:) the steering seemed a extremely sharp (I have been driving PAS cars for the last few years this just seemed sharper than the others) but have adapted quickly.
The door mirrors are great and mine are colour coded; yes a little on the large size from the view outside but brill: to use (y)

My only criticism is the feel of the steering wheel; not a particular nice grip,:( but again will adapt I think.

Sorry I havn't sussed how to load any pics:confused:
