Got a knocking noise on the rear of my 100hp, like if something is lose, but when the car is in the air it dosen't do anything, the exhaust is Ragazzon and on APEX lowering springs, when I move the exhaust with my hand when the car is on the floor, it dosen't make the same noise I hear in the car, could it be shocks lose because its been lowered?

Thank you for any help anyone can give me.

Giuseppe

The first thing would be to use a combination of jacks so that the suspension is compressed as if the car were on the road while you have it in the air. This will hopefully allow you to identify the problem.

Hi, if its an intermittent knock, esp when going over bumps it likely that the shocks (are they the originals?) have had it, like some other mine are being replaced under warranty at 36k miles(y) , but i've had the knocking for some while now! JB

Have the same problem with my 100HP, similar setup: lowered (KW coilover kit) with a Ragazzon exhaust. It's the exhaust hitting the torsion beam. When the car is lifted, the torsion beam is further away from the exhaust, so you won't notice it. When it's back on its wheels, there's actually very little space between the two.

I had a similar noise on mine and it was the rear shock
top mounts on the N/S so both were replaced and the
the noise was gone. I hope that helps?

You can't, there just isn't enough space to prevent it from happening. What you could do, is glue/tape/whatever a piece of rubber (at least something that'll absorb the hit) to the torsion beam so when it gets hit by the exhaust, you won't get a knock but a more gentle "bump".

mines been rattling at the back since i got the car new two years ago thought it maybe the bump stop rattling as there just pushed in loosly what ya think??
it sounds a too loose a rattel to be shocks as theres weight on them or is this wrong??
thanks.

Just thought I'd add that both my rear bump stops seem to have snapped and are now floating around inside the springs. Haven't got it on the ramp yet to see if they've actually broken or just fallen out but they've been rattling ever since!
