MEP, I know exactly what you meant, and the answer is yes. It has to be road legal for most events, and some demand that you drive the car to the venue.

Even the autosolo's i do demand a current MOT. The last one I did, they stopped a guy cos his MOT had expired, like 2 days earlier.

Having owned a couple of comp cars now, I can tell you that there is a massive advantage in building a car for the track only, not having to worry about MOT items, but it's also a lot of fun driving a competition car on the road
