General rear bumper protection for the panda (all of them!)

Hmmm, interesting.

Might get one for my 100hp, got a few chips and scratches on mine from loading shopping and stuff into the boot.

I got one the moment my 100Hp turned up..Initial impression was good.

The fitting is straight forward making sure any sort of finish to the rear bumper is removed.. I dont think I was agressive enough as the rear lip is lifting after on ly 10 days, will have to remove and reapply double sided tape.. The front is held in place by the 4 or 5 30mm torx bolts, but you have to make sure you press down hard, also appears missing the side adhesive which are needed to hold out the sides, otherwise the boot lid will make contact..
Apart from that it appears to do what it says on the box,

Rear Bumper Guard for 100HP

I contacted Richard Grant Mouldings a little while back to see if they did a rear bumper guard for the 100HP. The standard Panda guard they supply does not quite fit, but Richard himself very kindly popped off to his local Fiat dealer and has made one specially for the 100HP.
I think it retails for about £45 and comes in black or silver.
When it arrived, it took all of 3 minutes to fit, and looks great (IMHO).

I have tried unsucessfully to put the photos of it on this posting, but if you search in the Gallery section via the user name search using "professor" you'll see some piccies there.

If you want one the contact details are at www.rearguards.co.uk

Thanks comments Jakelleo

Pictures herewith... and NO comments on the Arbarth stickers please as came with it and not easy to get off (I have tried!)

Fits a treat also used large corner bumper pads back and front.. these meaty ones look the part anyway. If the missus finds red paint work to scratch now I shall get a toupee!

Dog seems to like it!

Re: Rear Bumper Guard for 100HP

Well that explains it.:bang:

. It never ever entered my noodle that the standard Panda would differ from the 100Hp... How wrong I was .

I should have realised this when my 100 Hp came with a damaged front towing eye cover. The one from a standard Panda is too big..

And the guard I got dont fit all that well into the sides..in fact the boot lid hits the guard at its sides..:bang:

;I might try applying a bit of heat to the sides in the hope it moulds itself in a bit tighter..

Re: Rear Bumper Guard for 100HP

here you go Prof

Carboot_001.jpg

if you go to your pictures in the FF gallery open one then right click on it and select copy link location

you get it as an url...

eg:

https://www.fiatforum.com/gallery/data/500/medium/Carboot_002.jpg

now you have 2 ways to take it from here but as they are in FF gallery

click on the little picture above which looks like yellow box with a mountain range and sun in it (same row as bold Italic underline) (6th in from the right)

or use

So what do we in fact have ?
Are there 3 distinct rear bumpers for the Panda range ?

I know that the standard fit Panda dont quite fit the 100Hp its not far out but just enough for the tips of the boot to make contact with the moulding.

I did wonder if I applied a bit of heat to the protruding bits it might tighten up.. But then it might be better to sell on the original Panda moulding to one of you enthusiasts and order up the correct 100Hp fitting.. That would probably be the best bet more so since due to a liberal application of Superguard on the paintwork the double sided tape is not really holding down the plastic guard and will be easy to remove..

Then remove the super guard ;) use something like T-cut metallic (no where near as aggressive as the red original and leaves nothing behind so can be sprayed onto once buffed off)

or a solvent paint cleaner such as panel prep £15 ish for 5 ltrs

wouldn't worry about superguard been removed on the bumpers TBH then again there is a school of thought that it is crap for the money you pay for it when you can get more durable sealants from some of the car detailing company's

So the one for the 100hp is a special order, glad I didn't jump straight in and order one, will be on the phone Monday to order one for the 100hp.

Noticed on Prof's 100hp it looks almost standard fit and doesn't look out of place.

Thanks to Prof' for the heads-up about the different sizes.
