Hi all,

I have a light green 1.1 Active Fiat Panda (very fun to drive) :)

Heres the story what happend.... a few months ago i removed the drivers side door panel. I took the 4 or 5 screws out and pulled the grey door panel off to view the standard factory car speakers because i was thinking of changing them with aftermarket ones. I looked and put everything back...all worked.. nice and dandy..

NOW all of a sudden im having trouble with the locks! Car is central locking by the way, but not via remote.
Heres exactly what happens....
I simply put my key into the drivers side and turn... opens all door locks...great... BUT when i open the driver door - straight away for some reason the other 3 doors lock, unlock, lock. again. annoying!

Then, when i get in and close the driver door, it repeats the whole proccess again! unlocks, locks, unlocks... couple cycles then stops in either position. all the while the drivers door lock does not do the same.

Also, i have trouble trying to successfully lock all doors and safely walk away! ok thats expected, but its really annoying and need to fix it. The doors also seem to try lock themselves (expcept drivers) while im driving!

Not good. Im going to go work on it now. Any suggestions/ideas whats come loose and gone wrong?? i made sure the detail below was secure in its place, see picture>>>> again I HAVE made sure the handle to lock mechanism below IS secured in its seating... but im still having problems.

Thanks

I'd suggest it's an issue with the lock mechanism in the drivers door. If it thinks it's locked, it'll try to lock the other three doors - which won't work if the drivers door is open, so it'll unlock them again etc.

I have the exact same problem (with the exception of the doors not locking and unlocking when I get in) unless the problem gets really bad my advice mate is just ignore it, right when I unlock my car turn the key and you think the car's unlocked, it is but the drivers door has locked itself again, turn the key a little further to the left and the drivers door will unlock.

When locking, ALWAYS double check that the car's locked, as I locked mine up at work one day, came out that evening after finishing work and the car was unlocked..., thankfully with it being a supermarket car park and a Car Park attendantr on site during the day my car wasn't touched.

Check the the central locking mechanism on drivers door, maybe it has moved slightly?

Hi, thanks for all responses.

I am still having problems and just have to chance it and be lucky all doors are locked.

I dont think I would be able to check the drivers door central locking, I might end up meesing up something else and then im taking 3 steps back.

What type of tradesman could repair it for me? locksmith? vehicle electrician?

Thanks
