Hello,

Have any other 100hp owners experienced water ingress on their cars? Recently we had some very heavy rain and I noticed that the passenger floor mat was completely water logged. Looking underneath the mat the carpet was also extremely wet (I can get water bubbles out of it by pressing it with my finger).

I've tried to soak up as much of the water as I can with towels and I've been driving the car on max heat to the feet to try and dry it out. Still very damp though.

It looks like the water has come in under the carpet but was enough volume to soak the mat as well.

Anyone else seen this before?

Cheers

I'm sure there've been a couple of posts about this before; some door seals can be perfect except in a one-in-a-hundred combination of wind direction, strength and rainfall. I guess you've discounted a heater matrix leak?

Have you had anything wired through the bulkhead to the battery? Sometimes the installers don't get everything back where it needs to be when they remove the scuttle panels etc which can lead to a leak.

Or have you had a windscreen? These can leak quite easily if not installed correctly.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the replies - I think Schwenk has hit the nail on the end. Looks like I was just really unlucky with the strength of rain/windspeed/position of car variables! Doh!

It's nearly dry now - I reckon another run home today with a blast of heat should get it completely dry.

Cheers

Worth also pulling up the carpet and making sure it's dry underneath - when the Fabia's back door seals leaked I dried out the carpet and took it a friend who worked at a VAG dealership to work out what the problem was. He said it was a common problem and lifted up the carpet to reveal that I hadn't quite drived it all out as there was a few inches of sodden foam underneath the carpet. :(

Isn't there a classic problem on Puntos where the pollen filter arrangement is hard to reseat and then allows water into the cabin? Is the Panda the same?

It would have to be a massive wave to get that much water in through a 'freak' incident. Check the door seal is seated fully.
