Hey there,

I am trying to change an import 2004 1.2 panda speedo from kmh to mph, if I get a set of clock out of a UK car of the same age can I just swap them over or is it a bit more complicted ?

Or alternatively, does anyone know where I can buy one of the mph stickers/dials that you put over the top of the existing kmp dial ?

Any help grateful :)

Do you have a pic of your kmh instruments? The UK cars are calibrated and marked for kmh and mph so we could compare the numbers and see if they're in the same positions :D

It takes about 500 miles max driving to get completely used to driving a km/h car with mph speed limits. Nearly sure you can still make the computer give you mpg fuel usage readouts if you want.

Agreed. It's fairly easy once you get used to it.

110kph = 70 mph
100kph = 60mph
80kph = 50mph
65kph = 40mph
50kph = 30mph
30kph = 20mph

All approximate of course. But it really is easy to get used to the difference. When I first moved here from Australia I had to convert mph over in my head just to get an idea of how fast I was going/meant to go. I'll wager it'll take you more time to get the instruments swapped over than it will take you to get used to the difference in units.

Whats the deal with getting an MOT and KPH instruments?

It doesn't matter. We've had one kmh car for 7 years, which is 7 MOT's. No problems with the others either.

My other half just did a small sticker with the conversion numbers and stuck it on the dash.

mph kmh
30 48
40 64
50 80
60 96
70 112
80 128

On this pic (taken from mk1mr2 SC SE) it's the white sticker on the dash:

Wifes Legaxy has almost an identical yet slightly different Momo wheel in it :)

And yes that is my foot as well :p

P.S No offence but your MR2's interior is even more plastic and crappy than the Legacy's one!
