My Fiat Panda 16v Multijet (2006) had the engine light come on for after five -10 miles, and the turbo cut out. Engine light simultaneously came on (continuously, not flashing) till end of ride. Engine light out the next time I drove it, but after 5 -- 10 miles the engine light came on again when I accelerated hard and the turbo cut in -- only to cut out. This is now occurring as a regular feature. By keeping the revs down, with no sudden acceleration to make the turbo really boost, I can ensure the engine light stays off, but when I accelerate strongly with a warm engine, the engine light comes on again.
Fault code reader says: P0238 Turbocharger boost sensor A circuit high input. (No other codes actual or pending).
I followed correspondence on a similar fault on this site and replaced the MAP filter with a new one. However, symptoms remain unchanged.
Has anyone got any suggestions, or has anyone had anything similar? The car has done 15,500 miles.

Many thanks.

Is the car not under warranty?

Thanks for replies: To 306 Maxi: Car just out of warranty.
To T14086: Rear of engine, driver's side of centre. Remove air cleaner etc to get to it. No doubt about it ... I did replace the MAP sensor.

Ah bugger, have you tried Fiat customer service? :)

Good luck.
