I'm just back from the dealership, not having left a check.

I was referred to Pewsham Garages (UK) by Broker 4 Cars who claimed they would sell the Cross for a base price of £9,166

Pewsham said the best possible base price was £10,195 AND 8-12 weeks to deliver!

Does anyone know if a better price can be had in the UK.

Thanks.

I bought my Cross from Perrys at a very good discount but they are hardly offering any discount now. I also had a choice of colours with more or less immediate delivery.
I suspect when the Cross was first launched in the UK Fiat imported a number of them but these have all sold now. Hence the 8-12 week wait for a factory order. I can't see the Cross being built and imported to UK spec. except to fill a definite order as it's just not selling well enough.
Probably best to keep your eyes open for a used one.

Therefore, smaller discount?:shakehead:
If the discounting dealers can shift shedloads of mainstream Pandas to meet their sales quotas then why bother with the hard work of selling the occasional Panda Cross, unless Fiat include so many Crosses in that quota, which I suspect they do not.
Sainsburys sell a lot of basic factory-bred chickens at very low prices but free-range organic chickens cost a fortune and are not discounted. Same scenario, really.

It's rather strange that Pewsham, aka Fiatsupasaver.com, quote you £10,195 for the Cross when their website quotes £9,695.
Maybe you should visit the website then get back to them and query their prices.

Yes, it looks like the cheap chicken theory plays out. These are FiatSupaSaver discounts:

1.2 Dynamic ECO Air Con 2009 £7,995.00 £5,795.00

1.2 Eleganza 2009 £8,995.00 £6,195.00

1.3 Diesel Dyn Air Con 2009 £9,395.00 £7,095.00

1.2 4x4 2009 £10,395.00 £7,395.00

1.4 16v 100HP 2009 £10,395.00 £7,395.00

1.3 4x4 Diesel Cross 2009 £12,195.00 £9,695.00

with the Cross being the smallest discount at around 20% vs. ~30% for the 100HP and others.

The upside is, if I'm not mistaken, 4x4's tend to depreciate more slowly.

Are you saying Pewsham Garages in Chippenham and FiatSupaSaver in Buckinghamshire are the same company?

I'm no expert but I strongly believe that Pewsham Garages also trade as fiatsupasaver.com
I cannot account for the different counties that they seem to trade from.

Yes they are. They don't say so but will admit it if prompted. It's a good thing to know as you can just point to the SuperSaver web site and save haggling.

That's interesting. So, they would rather let me walk out the door than come down to their ADVERTISED price? Amazing!

You sure it an OTR advertised price and not a basic price Avertised compaired to the quoted one

This is from the FiatSupaSaver website:

...all our cars come with at least 6 months Road Tax and number plates at no extra costs. Some vehicles such as the Panda Diesel all come with 12 months Road Tax.

The advertised Supersaver price is on the road and all you need to pay. The sticker price at Pewsham is full whack. Can anyone remember what Actives were going for as Supersaver last August? Pewsham gave me a price of £5800 without haggling at the time.

I paid £5499 for an Active Eco in Jan before Supersaver had it on their site.

:yeahthat:

Supersaver is an online price iirc

Can't go into the dealer expecting to pay the same.

I walked into a dealer today and was offered exactly the same price as fiatsupasaver are giving on Panda 1.2 eco's and eleganzas as well as prices for 500's which are notoriously difficult to get discounts on.
