I guess if he has the money he can afford the real carbon, but would you get the same sort of finish with film? wont it peal off over time?

Its used extensivly on fishing tackle and thats a wet water sport and is very hard wearing..a coat of sealant and varnish does wonders..;)
 
You mean my Browning Black Magic II is only coated in sticky back plastic? :(

That pole was constructed with high modulus graphite..and had put in joints IIRC wasnt one of browning best..(n) many of the seat boxes though that look as though they are corbon fibre are actually covered plastic..:Offtopic: :D
 
Iv used film in the past and next to real stuff looks pretty rubbish
Its not unless you rubbishly apply it ;)

With mirrors it a lot better to apply a "carbon finish" though, not film. Its done by applying several layers of special finish using pattern applicators and then covering with laquer - it looks 100% like real thing.

The old mirror covers, you say they just 'pop off', no hidden screws or fasteners?

Want to take mine off to have sprayed matt silver.
