are they stiffer than the average in movement, or does mine need oiling...?

No mine isn't that stiff, but it has rattled since the indicator stalk was replaced...

Mine are movable with light pressure from the fingertips but are certainly notchier than more prestige cars

Whilst on the subject of wipers I just tried the cheapo ones from Aldi, the factory fitted ones on my car drag & vibrate on the drivers side which drove me insane.
The Aldi ones are super silent & at two for £5 seemingly a bargain altho the pair in the box are both the same so you need a box of each size so £10 for 4
