I've spotted the first turbo conversion for the 100HP.

They've raised the power to 117KW --> 159,12bhp and 217Nm.
And it's just stage 1.

They did the same to the 500 1.4 and they're planning a stage 2 upgrade giving it around 210bhp.
As the engine is almost the same(ECU is different) the stage 2 kit will also fit on the 100HP.

The stage 1 kit will cost 3790 euro or 3373,86 GBP.

You can check www.cardevision.de for stats and photo's.

210bhp!

That would scare you to death in a Panda!

150bhp would be insane never mind 210bhp.

On top of all that you would need to upgrade the brakes, suspension and underpants.

Oh, I would watch that video on mute, my ears hurt now lol

Cant make out a great deal from the stats on the site given so I dont know if the bottom end and conrods have been strengthened..if not then good buy engine before to long..[if they achieve 210bhp]

Apologies if this has been asked before, but is the SS kit from the Abarth 500 compatible with the Panda 100hp?

At 150 HP I would be seriously worried about the transmission, although Turbo engines do tend be kind to gearbox's in mild tune. At 210HP there's no doubt that the clutch, gearbox, shafts and CV joints will literally disintegrate!!

I drove a Mk1 Uno Turbo back in the day (early 90's?) pushing out 150bhp from its somewhat basic (bleed valved) 8v engine...Probably weighed less than an 100HP, too...(And this one had no interior / full cage fitted)...:D

Felt very rapid - But that was compared to the 127 GT I had at the time...(the 100HP of its day??)

Isn't the gearbox fitted to the 100HP from the GP? If it's the same one fitted to the multijet, it should take the extra torque...

Just not sure I'd want to spent £3.5k on car worth £5k~...Be better selling up and buying an Evo 7 / Focus ST for that sort of money!!

It could be the same as the GP diesel.
Is that the 6m32 gearbox?? Because if it is so, it could handle the power easily.
The 6m32 gearbox is used in the Bravo 150bhp sport and also in the 500 Abarth Assetto Corse.

@Raify: The Abarth SS won't fit the 100hp easily. You'll be needing a lot of extra's.
The 100hp has a compression ratio from 11:1.
So also you need to fit low compression pistons for a turbo conversion. And a lot of other parts that could take more BHP.
The only car that can handle a turbo and high compression pistons is a Honda VTEC. But it has to be a small turbo.

I got the first figures out of the movie bhp is in red and torque in yellow.
What they are saying is that the stage 2 kit will be out in Q1/Q2 2009.
Hopefully they put a new movie on the site...

Pretty sure it's a different one (or at least different ratios) as the 100hp has a 21mph/1000rpm 6th gear which would be pretty painful in a diesel :D

Isn't that just a matter of changing the final drive ratio?

I was under the impression that the same 5 speed gearbox is used on the petrol and multijet Pandas, with different final drive ratios to account for the smaller diesel power band. This is supposedly also the reason why the multijet is limited to 145nm of torque in the Panda. The clutch, originally designed for a smaller petrol engine, simply can't handle it.

Interesting to see but bonkers if you go and do it really.

That's a lot of money and you'd need an LSD and some suspension tweaks, and brakes to exploit that extra power. So by the time you've done all that it's not really financially viable is it?

I'm not convinced that the chassis will fair very well at all at 210bhp without some fairly major revisions.

good stuff:cool:

i don't understand why there are so many skeptics - all this nonsense about con rods and gearboxes not being strong enough...

this is no different to what van Aaken were doing to Cinq Sportings 10 years ago - i have one and it is great

55 bhp stock, 105 bhp modded
only change to engine itself being a decomp plate(y)

Hmmm, the Essesse kit is a remap, air filter and stuff lke suspension and brakes. The kit doesn't come with a turbo or anything as they retian the stock one. so no, the kit will be no use at all!

The boxes are two different versions, Fiat Power Train C510 and C514, and yep the beefier on eis used on the smaller diesels but with different ratio's.

I am curious if you can swap the boxes between models myself (will they physically fit?)
