I've attempted to make an mp3 CD for use in my car, however it keeps spitting the CD out and the display reads 'error'. After the first time it refused to play the CD, I tested it with another CD and just one song on it, which it played. Is there a limit to the amount of songs you can have on one CD? Why does it refuse to play? Any help is muchly appreciated as I don't want to waste anymore CDs if its just not going to work. I have a 2007 Fiat Panda

I've had a look through the current threads and I can't see anything on this topic, but my apologies if I missed it, please therefore link me.

Thanks

Yes it does, it states it on the front, also I tested another smaller CD with only about 20 songs on and it played it.

The last MP3 CD I burnt (a week or so ago) has around 120 mp3's on it and I've not come across any problems with the number of songs. Was the disc definitely finalised as I've had problems with this before?

Chris

Generic advice for any cd/dvd recorder - this applies to pc's, music and dvd players as well: use the slowest speed available for your recorder, e.g 4x or 8x, as this can greatly improve the readability across various devices especially when using cheaper discs.

Yeah, I've done it on two disks, and they were both finalised but still wouldnt work. I'm just not sure what else to try, I think I may just go out and buy a re-writeable disk and try a few different things. The Fiat manual states a few specifications for the disk, which I have complied to so I'm not really sure what else to try, other than a few less songs perhaps... I'll give it another go this afternoon and let you know. Thank you all for your help

If it's any help, I put albums on rather than individual songs. Each album is a folder with all the tracks inside. I usually go for 128kb/sec and fill the disc up - generally 12-14 albums per cd.

Another thing, have you tried a different brand of cd? Have had masses of problems in the past with Tescos own brand dvd discs, might be something similar?

:yeahthat:

It works YAY!! Thank you all for your help. I bought some new rewriteable CDs, and now it works, did it all the same as before, so perhaps it was the make of CD I was using. But anyway, YAY to having music in my car :)
