Thanks for that - and for bringing a much-needed note of sanity to the thread - I'd finally come up with that Koni ref no for 1.1, 1.2 and MJ non-4x4s - but hadn't realised they're non-adjustable - as I can't imagine the minimum length of the damper (ie on maximum suspension compression) is less for the 100HP than other Pandae they shouldn't do themselves a mischief but the very different spring rates mean that adjustability is essential. Didn't understand how rear dampers could lower the car - and fitting rears only would make it look a bit odd if they did - but I gather that was an aberration. I'm not looking for any lowering - apart from anything else, in Italy we have to drive up a couple of kilometres of white road, where the Cinquecento Sporting occasionally grounded, so lowering is not a practical option. There's also a Bilstein number - 3117, but they're B4s, which I gather are also non-adjustable. Drawn a blank so far looking on Italian sites.
I wouldn't be too bothered about the Bilstein's being non-adjustable. Firstly you'll probably put them on and be happy and never fiddle with them and secondly Bilstein will probably have chosen a good setting to start with anyway. My Fiat 131 had Bilstein's (not sure which ones but I doubt they were adjustable) and was excellent and my mum's Saab 900 has B4's on them and handles and rides well. A lot of people complain about Italian cars being underdamped and Bilstein's are a common upgrade and most people seem very happy with them.
Apologies for you having to wade through all this crap, there are a lot of people on here who like nothing better to win an argument rather than just respecting people's opinions and helping people who have questions.
