I think this is an unfair test, apart from the looks, the Polo and the Panda are two very different cars. Obviously the Polo is going to better on road and predictably the Cross is going to be better off road, that's the whole point of a Panda Cross! I know which i'd prefer! Although I'm still unsure about the Orange. It's silly to compare two different cars just because they have a similar paint scheme, agreed?

And same size, power and price?! :D

One thing that wasn't clear was whether ESP was standard on the Polo at that price as someone seemed to have gone a bit wild ticking the options list for the press car :ROFLMAO:

I agree, what a rubbish comparison. Lets look at a car that is quite a good off roader then compare it to a normal 2wd jacked up polo?? But as pointed out earlier its got the same colour of paint so it must be similar.:D Dont really understand what they're trying to prove. Hope Top Gear does some kind of challenge with the Cross in this series... now although probably not factual it still would be a hoot to watch! :slayer:

feee at :ROFLMAO:

Such a pants review, two completely different cars for starters.

This is a very old film, been there since 2006.
(see here: http://www.italiaspeed.info/index.php?showtopic=993)
But that earlier post on You Tube has gone and now says:
This video has been removed due to terms of use violation.
so someone has decided to repost it! (Bit like the Range Rover vs. Panda 4x4 that's in there at least twice)

Prior to the Panda Cross, various euro car makers produced cars that tried to look 'off road' but weren't. The Polo Cross was one, but there was also a strange version of the Citroen C3 (the X-TR) and even a horrid thing based on a Rover 25, which I think they called the Streetwise. All these had bigger bumpers with pseudo-4x4 undertrays, big side rubbing strips etc...

But only Fiat 'did it properly'!

Yes i remember all those weird copies, tried to look like a 4x4 ended up looking like a Panda Active with unpainted bumpers! If you're gonna make a car look like a 4x4, it has to be a 4x4 or what is the point? I'm glad Fiat developed the technology and put in the effort to build 2 decent off roaders, the petrol and the diesel. As regards to the vid i posted, i knew it was gonna be a silly review as soon as i heard the American voice over, i mean have you ever heard an American talk any sense of any kind? Think about it for a mo....how many American voice overs have you heard on factual documentaries such as nature programs?
