Having not used the windscreen washers for a while (simply not needed to!), I went to wash the screen the other day, to be greeted with two (out of three) weak jets on the driver's side (one of which was pointing in the wrong direction), and a pathetic dribble which filled up the scuttle on the passenger's side.
I know others have had problems with washer jets, so for those people, what has resolved it? New washer jets? The pump sounds fine, and the rear wsher works as well as it ever has.
I'm only in warranty for another 2500 miles, so will need to make the most of it :chin:

Back in March I got the windscreen washers replaced under warrenty due to them not working in a similar fashion to yours.

They have just started to play up again so I think its time for a trip to the garage.

One thing to try is to have a look at them and see if a small plastic pin is sticking out the side of it. If it is then push it back in and this should solve the problem for a while.

On the side of each squirter there is a plastic screw head to adjust the angle of the squirt.
This should be recessed but can work its way out. push it back in, carefully, with a small screwdriver and all will be well again. Examine regularly as the screw head will gradually move out again.
Not much point in replacing under warranty as the new ones will do the same to some extent.

Yeah, more than likely just a normal blockage, had it on my otherwise perfect Audi and can be any old gunk (in my case probably tree sap since I parked under one at work every day) - I wouldn't blame it on a "fault" as such - just try and stick a pin in the nozzle first and see if it clears...

Actually he did demonstrate his lack of squirting last night - i think he just needs to prick the hole :chin:

I'd worry about him. It's not that long since he had problems with his knob being stiff... :p

I solved the problem of the plastic pin sliding out and turning too freely as well by removing the complete jet unit and pushing the pin right in.Then I heated up a flat knife blade and pressing it over the end of the hole. This stops the pin sliding out and makes it harder to turn so it stays in the same place over a period of time.I first did this nearly 4 years ago when I had a Panda loan car for a couple of weeks. When we bought our own in march the problem soon appeared and I remembered the solution. The jet units prise out very easily, and the blade does not need to be very hot, I heated mine up on a ceramic hob.
