Bought the october edition of the magazine yesterday.
Loads of good stuff in it, but the best was the road and off road test of the Cross.

They took it for a full lap around the M25 and got 60.9mpg out of it keeping close to 55mph.

If anyone wants to read it, reply here and i'll figure out how to get it online. Currently downloading adobe acrobat so i'll pdf it.

55mph on m25 they making it up. everyone know you can't get up to that speed on there :p

As a regular dweller of that car park I can confirm that I you can often drive in the mornings there at a speed of 55 mph or higher, mind you I have normally reached work by 7:00am so spot the secret of quick driving on the M25 :D :ROFLMAO:

The best morning to drive it is a friday, the worst afternoon is also the friday (n)

okay, here we go, if anyone wants a pdf emailed PM me.

Thanks for posting this! As soon as i get a spare 20 mins I'll read it, see how it compares to my experience. Maybe i wasn't trying hard enough to get good fuel consumption when i had it. I was too keen on getting stuck in to the rough stuff!

What a machine though, this car should go down in motoring history books! I know I'll never forget my fun time i had in the Cross, who knows maybe I'll just bite the bullet and buy one.

If you do buy one just don't try playing on Strata Florida - we don't want you to do what these two did :bang::bang::bang:

Mind you, if you can do this we will give you DEEP respect :worship::worship::worship:

Is it really that amazing? honestly? Why?

Thought you wanted a 100hp?
I think it's great because, just look at it! Most people would look at it and completely take the pi** and say "suppose it's handy for going through the odd puddle" or something simarily stupid. To get that much ability, technology, equipment etc into a car this size has to be something of an achievement IMO. Everyone knows how easy it is to make a big heavy 4x4 with all the luxuries you can think of and a big powerful thirsty engine, but to attempt a similar effort on such a small scale deserves respect.

Maybe I'm just getting carried away, i loved it anyway. The thing is when you've got an obsession with cars (small cars in particular) you want them all. And when you're 21 without a girlfriend who doesn't smoke or drink and still lives at home, what else am i to spend my hard earned dosh on?

Well I don't think its amazing enough to do down in history. I've looked at it and haven't really come to conclusion about whether it looks good or not. I'm not trying to offend but I don't really see what is that special about it. Sure its a cheap small 4x4 and there isn't much else at that price level to compete with it, but maybe thats because the market for a small 4x4 is pretty small anyway. I don't think there is really anything ground-breaking technology wise in the cross either.

So maybe you are getting carried away! :p

Last week you wanted a 100hp. I think you should hold fire and have a good think about what you want. (y)

Looks a damn sight better than that "Roomster" thing they did, Rooster more like, that was the ugliest car i have ever seen, looked like a car and a van welded together, makes me wanna puke. But this is ok i suppose (would still have the Cross over it though!)

Going off topic I know :Offtopic:

Me, I like the roomster, and the multipla. I suppose I'm just a fan of quirky cars

I love the nissan cube,

and the forthcoming Citroen C3 Picasso

Neither of those are 4WD though, and I like 4WD:)

Tell me Draig, when I attach photos, they are always full size or resized.
I see you in your posts attach thumbs, how?

D

Not sure, they just come up as thumbnails, maybe because i add a lot and/or they are large files? dunno.

I also like square boxy cars, the cube is awesome but i don't like the fact that it's very square and yet annoyingly unsymmetrical. how bout this, the VW UP!

that 5dr version is fantastic, but I wonder how the much it'll get diluted by the time it's released. The 3dr looks a lot like my Citroen c1

I loved the concept tiguan, but the finished version is bland.

Still the cross for me at the moment. There's 4 edemos on auto trader at the mo. The cheapest being £9995 with 20miles on it. They are all the same launch cars like the one you drove.

Still not cheap enough yet though.
