It surprises me how many of you have come from high powered cruisers, etc to the 100HP. What's the change over like?

The 100hp is one of the most fun car's I've ever driven (y) although it can't really be compared to the likes of the M Coupe and Clio V6 etc....but it shocked me at how bloody good it actually is!!!! :D

Had a Lancia Delta Integralie and a Coupe 20v Turbo

The 100HP is obviosly not as quick as these, but for the running costs and fun that can be had the 100HP rules.:slayer:

My 100hp can't compare with my old VX220 for acceleration and pace, but on real roads in good old British weather it's probably as quick a lot of the time once it's up and running.

Overtaking won't be the same as it used to be, though I enjoy the challenge of keeping the speed up and using well timed overtakes rather than just punching the throttle, more satisfaction to be had I reckon..

Great lists of cars coming out, it's always interesting!

1993 Pug 205 diesel (learnt to drive in it and only gotten rid of in May this year!)
1973 BMW 2002

Peugeot 309
Volvo 740GL Estate
Ford Maverick LWB
Nissan Terrano 2 LWB
Panda 4x4 Climbing

Owned over a period of 31 years of car ownership, i.e. kept each car for an average of almost 4 years. Once comfortable with a car I don't like to change (some would say I'm just stingy).

For me, 4 years is an awfully short time... I drove my old 1992 Polo for 11 years before buying my Panda. (I kept the Polo too, it's still going well 14 years on and driven daily by my hubby...) You'll probably still see me driving the Panda many years from now...:D

2007 Fiat Panda 100hp

A bit of an eclectic mix , but I've enjoyed (or continue to enjoy) every one.

Good for you, Weesmurf. For a long time I've been self-employed and well paid so changing cars didn't cost me so much due to tax advantages. My circumstances are now different and I wil be inclined to keep my cars for longer.
I feel that if you have a car that you've looked after and found to be reliable it's a good idea to keep hold of it. The longer you keep it, the less per year the depreciation. Put aside the money you might have put into a loan for a new car and when your old one dies you'll probably be able to afford a new or nearly new one.

Fiat Panda 1.3 Multijet - My Mum's car, I drove it for about a year after passing test.
Fiat Punto Mk2 1.2 8v - drove for 2 years with countless problems and ridiculous amounts of money put into it, now my sisters car.
Fiat Panda 100HP - Quite a step up from the Punto, absolutely awesome!

You hit the nail on the head there... That's why I kept the Polo...

And as for the Panda - I didn't originally set out to buy a new car, but decided that I might as well since I tend to keep my cars so long. And the extra couple of thousand I spent allowed me to get the exact car that I wanted (Skydome, sliding rear seat, extra air bags etc). :D

In 12 years. inc year of model

Fiesta 950cc 1987
Astra 1.4 1992... Bleurgh!!
Punto TDSX 1996
Ka collection 2000.. written off :0(
Mitsubishi colt 1.3 1999
Punto 60sx 1998
Honda Civic 1.6 2004
Smart ForTwo 2006
Panda 100HP 2007.. yay!

A lot of eyebrows were raised when going from Honda to Smart.. Just wouldnt be happy til I'd had one!

Here's my list!

VW Golf GTI 1.6
Citroen AX GTI
Peugeot 309 1.9 GTI
Toyota MR2 1.6
Toyota MR2 2.0
Lotus Esprit 2.2 Turbo
BMW/MINI Cooper 1.6
Daewoo Matiz 1.0
Audi TT Roadster 1.8 Turbo
Fiat Panda 100HP

All have been great cars and I would gladly own any of them again. Only one of them stranded me at the roadside..

The Golf, twice! Once when the points failed, and once when the clutch cable snapped!

Stand-out cars are the 309 for it's mix of power delivery, steering and handling..

and the Lotus, an unbelievable ride quality with almost no body roll and steering from a go-cart, no go below 5000 rpm though, but always an occasion to drive.

Electric/electro hydraulic power steering is the worst thing that has happened to cars in the last 20 years.. AAAGGGHHH. Horrible.

Here.s my list - mostly in order :D :D

Ford Escort mk1 1100cc Estate
Renault 30
Skoda Estelle 120 LS (well someone had to have had one)
Fiat Regatta
Vauxhall Mk1 Carlton 1800
Seat Toledo TDI SXE
1986 Ford Escort 1.6
Honda 2.2 Prelude VTEC
Toyota 3.0 Surf (1993)

and now the Fiat Panda 1.2 Dynamic :D
