Gents,

If I change the ecu on my 100hp, will it need to be put on the examiner to marry everything back up (Proxy alignment?)

Thing is, I'd like a remap. I might get a second hand ecu and send it off to the land of Schmokes and Pancakes to be redone. It's a bit easier than putting the whole car in a large Jiffy bag.

fao others, I know I can get a piggyback or aftermarket ecu but I don't want to go down that route.

Not sure how much of this is applicable, but people have done this on VAG cars and have said there are the following caveats....

- the new ECU will need coding to the dashpod and immobiliser
- the map you have installed on the chip will have to be fairly conservative as it can't be set up for the car
- the price of a new ECU is around £800 and second hand ones seem to be just as desirable!

Not sure how much of that is relevant to Fiat, but I too will be watching this thread with interest :D
