Guess it helps having the right amount of doors  :D

I've taken a fair few people out in my 100 and (without exception!) everyone has left grinning and been very complimentary. The ride is firm, but it's no firmer than most proper sports cars and my only gripe is getting it over speed humps. Most people don't notice the ride unless I mention it, but I try and scan the road and pick the smoothest path around pot holes, etc.

I'm looking forward to reading what you think of it. I've spent the morning driving a friend's E46 328i and I have a feeling we might be adding one to the fleet in the not too distant future :ROFLMAO:

Ooh, I'm not sure I agree with that!

On a smooth road I think the 100hp is brilliant but on a bumpy B-road where a nippy, agile and small car could be sensational it is, in my opinion laughable (entertaining but for all the wrong reasons). Having said that, my kids love being thrown around in it and in other ways the car is superb :)

I drive mine on bumpy B-roads every day and I honestly have never found it as bad as people make out....Maybe because I drove those same roads every day in my Punto (R.I.P!) that had virtually no rear shock travel left! :D

Good on you for trying the HP, it'll certainly be a lot closer to what you're looking for in a car :)

In my own opinion, the roadholding is brilliant - better even than my sprung and shocked Cinquecento. Only time I have had an issue with the ride is when going entirely too fast down a B road and effectively 'landing' just before a second crest. Kinda made it go all a bit giddy.

Still, we lived to tell the tale!

Give it a go, i'm sure you'll love it. It might not seem overly fast compaired to you're Integra but for everyday use it more than enough. Make sure the sports button is on and make sure you make full use of the rev range, it really gains speed the higher you go.

Just as a small appetiser of what could be;

Not trying to crash your hopes BUT I test drove the 100HP, MJ 1.2 and the 1.1 and decided that the 100HP just wasn't fast enough to sway me away from the MJ.

I say that not to dwindle any thoughts as it's a terrific car, but don't get your hopes up too much as you will not see a 50% power increase. The increase is simmilar to that of the 1.1 to the MJ as I tested one of those as well.

I do hope that it meets your needs but if you get into it with too much anticipation it may not fulfill them.....

good luck.

I don't really expect it to be 50% faster than an MJ... really for me its how the power is delivered thats key. i'll enjoy a revvy little petrol engine over the unresponsive MJ, which just frustrates me with its total lack of throttle response. Its not that the MJ is bad. I've just come to the conclusion that I don't like diesels.

I'm being realistic, this is supposed to be my sensible work car after all and i do keep reminding myself that i have a 200bhp Integra that i've been driving like a loon all weekend in.

My criteria for the 100hp is that it needs to put a smile on my face, ie be fun to drive. That's essentially what i'm looking for I guess.

Thanks for the pics,

It will be my everyday car and don't worry i will press the sport button and i will rev it even if its got no miles on it.

Dealer news.

Apparently the red one at Platts was sold at the weekend! Just my luck!

The dealer was trying to find out if i could have a test drive of it before it went but alas got a call this afternoon and it was already on its way to its new owner.

Dealer called me back half an hour later saying he'd located the only red one in the country according to him and he would be getting it in about 6 days time (so god knows where its coming from!).

So good news he'll have the car in the spec i want (though no subwoofer, not sure if you can retro fit them?) but importantly wthout ESP.

Hopefully he'll have it in for Sunday, but either way i'll test drive then or monday. Could be a quick deal if i'm happy with it.

Oh and thanks all for your help and input so far. Mucho appreciated.

One thing, if you do thrash the nackers off it you are aware it will be in the very low 30s for mpg?

Yep, i know it won't be as economical as the MJ by a fair stretch. I'm not massively worried by that though tbh. I do get mileage and a car allowance through work which is worth about £160 a month or so.

I'm hoping that being a petrol my foot won't be welded to the floor like it is with teh MJ whilst i wait for the turbo to spin up... so i should be able to drive it with a bit more progression if that makes sense?

Not been funny, before you trade in ur MJ, why don't you get it remap and see what it like? if you dont like it and still want a 100hp you can get you money back within 7days.....:D
