Hi, i'm thinking of changing my cd player out of my panda for a double din unit. can anyone suggest one for me and would i have to get a surround for it?

you will need a surround, you can get them from fleabay or Halfords

I have a Sony unit for my car, complete with USB slot

I have a sneaking suspicion (and it is just that) that the headunit in the Panda is 1.5 DIN rather than double. I could be completely wrong of course, but I had this problem in my Mondeo which had a very similar sized stereo

Hopefully it is double DIN, in which case you shouldn't need a surround.

The Panda has a double din slot, I have this ENORMOUS package with the adaptor that fits in place of the standard Fiat Panda fascia.

The adaptor would need the centre bar removing for a double din stereo - Halfords say it's the same for a double din or a single din.

Not sure on the security aspect of a double din though, you certainly can't remove the whole front, so break in risk may be quite high.

upgrading my stereo this week, kenwood head unit, pioneer sub. did you get the steering wheel controls working with your head unit ? also is your blue tooth linked with head unit, i have been told i need a can bus adaptor.

I think my headunit was out before bluetooth had even been invented!

I'll be getting my controls to work with the headunit, but it will be a project that'll take place over winter along with other mods I'll be doing to improve the audio.

That head-unit is definitely impressive - wish I could afford one!

It's not one headunit, top part is the CD tuner, the bottom is controller for the processor that lives in the boot.

It's a twin single DIN adapter.
