I've looked into fitting cruise control on my Eleganza but an after market kit is nearly £400!

I'm pretty sure there is a light on my dash for cruise control so it must be available on the continent. I remember someone saying their Panda had auto wipers - you can get a kit for auto lights for £30 but you've got to wire it in and I can't be arsed.

Because I don't just use cruise control on the motorway. I use it on most roads as you only have to press the resume button to reinstate it if you've had to slow down. All of my family live miles away from me so it'd be a nice feature to have as it would make journeys less tiring - especially as i'm 6ft3 and suffer a cramped driving style.

Bear in mind the instrument pack is shared with other Fiat models and the Fiat cruise control might not be a possibility on the Panda.

To my knowledge no other Fiat shares the Pandas instrument panel be it home or abroad.

Have a look at the Doblo, Punto and Grande Punto instrument packs - all remarkably similar.

I have had cruise control on my last 3 cars - and hated using it... but that is down to my style of driving no doubt.

Me too - I found there was always just one more car to overtake and that if I used cruise on a clear road it took the fun out of driving. The only real novel use I found with it was accelerating using the steering wheel + button which seemed to deliver a tad more aggressive acceleration than the pedal! :ROFLMAO:

I stand corrected but I know cruise control isn't an option on the Doblo and you can only get it on the Grande Punto Sporting.

I'm seriously thinking of getting it. I do a lot of motor way miles and going to work I go on a lot of long dual carriageways. It'll help curb me going faster than I should and stop me wanting to put my foot down. I only cruise on the motorway on the inside lane behind the Lorries slipstrem to save fuel.

For £547 I can have cruis control fitted with a column stalk (3 memory settings for different speeds) or for £10 less I can have one that replaces my gear knob for one with buttons sunk into it - it looks much smarter and I prefer it's look to the stalk.

It's a lot to pay but it will reduce my fuel bills.

My experience of cruise was that it was *less* economical as it couldn't make judgement calls based on the road ahead, ie hills, traffic density, etc.
