regaurds to mpg i get about 45-50mpg, thats taking it easy, and the range has changed alot too, used to say every time i fill up that i will get 288 miles on 1 tank, and now its changed to 395 miles on one tank, lol, :D

Thats brilliant really, just dont know how sensible i can be:rolleyes:

Btw how do you find the 6000K's and where did you get them from????:confused:

errr i must be doing something wrong....
best i've had driving normally is 35mpg, mix of a and b roads.
the tanks gets down to the amber light and i fill up 25 litres (5.5 gallons) and i get around 190miles. is there something up with my car?

having said that i caned the bottom of it this week, flat out every where and i still got 32 mpg, and 180 miles on 26litres so i'll stick to going flat out !!

Getting over 40mpg is easily possible, but imho there's no point buying a car like the 100bhp if you're going to spend your life pootling around and leaving half the rev range untapped, just to get good economy. Just buy a diesel! :ROFLMAO:

thank god you all think the same, long live naturally aspirated (non turbo) engines that rev to kingdom come !!!!

i used to have an octavia vrs, great and fffffffffffast...... but the 100hp knocks the socks off it for FUN with out me losing my licence..

serious note, when i fill the car up, the fuel guage goes down quickly through the first few marks to the 1/4 mark and then slows down after that? anyone elses?

last week i got down to the 1/4 mark and i'd only done 30 miles but when i got down to the amber light i'd done 190 miles?!

mmmmmm....... more like dodgy fuel guage? something else to go on the 'i'll book it in and get the warranty stuff sorted soon, but i can't be bothered cos its not that important' list !

Interestingly, on all my previous cars the gauge has taken x miles before it moves and then moves more rapidly. On the Panda it seems to move more uniformly, but I can't remember how many miles I can do before it reaches the 1/4 tank marker. I'll let you know once I refill it :D

Did you have the ignition on when you filled the tank? It really messes with it if you do!

Filled up yesterday and at 22.4 miles, the needle has moved from the MAX to the first mark on the gauge. I forgot to count how many markers there are on the gauge but I'm guessing there are more than 10 (which would make 224 miles on the tank!) so maybe it doesn't go down as uniformly as I thought....

i wish i got to 22 miles on one mark!

mine seems to go down one mark for around 10 miles. 190 is the most i've got until the red light comes on, oh well never mind !!

Still cant get over how poor the mpg is..
My 285k km 1988 Audi 100 avant with 2.2 5 cyl in it does 34 mpg on a run and thats at 140kmh wherever poss.. I was working in Holland and it was 600 miles in 8.5 hours on Autoroutes on a tankfull.. tank holds 88L and I dont remembr filling with more than 80...
The 100hp would have to do the same kind of trips as well as the local and "normal" stuff..
The Cinq sporting I had used to do 45+mpg even when I drove it like I stole it.. 34k miles in 2 years too... only vehicle and had to do distance too (UK only though)..

The mpg does seem to improve as the miles pile on. At 7,300 I can now get 40mpg if I don't thrash it, which I couldn't get near a few months ago.

TMT - bear in mind the Cinquecento was an 1108cc with only 54bhp, weighing 200Kg less!

Yeah but even when driving the wheels off it and 100mph trips... The only time it it dipped below 45mpg was a trip up to york with a roof box and a trailer with a Triumph speed triple on a trailer.. and it sat at 70 easy...
I just think a bigger engine ought to be pretty efficient in a small light car..

I've recently done a 450 mile trip from Cardiff to North Wales and back up the M5/M6 doing 80 mph + and it managed 40mpg and that was with fairly fast paced driving on the slower roads. I'm quite pleased with the economy
