Elaganza Problem

hello
I have posted this on here before but can anyone pinpoint where my fault could be coming from, first off when I first start the car and wait a few minutes the front and rear windscreen wipers come on and won't go off?
at night when I switch the main beam on both headlamps go off? which is a danger also when I have the demister blowing it switches it off when I turn on the main beam?
somtimes when I have been on a long run (motorway) everything works normal I then leave the car for a couple of days and the faults come back?
Would anyone know if there is a MAIN computer chip which controls the electrics ?or would I have to replace the stalks on the driving wheel ?could it be a damp problem? any advice would be gratefully recieved

Lights and wipers sounds like a problem with the stalks, not sure about the demister though. Could be linked, I suppose.

Sounds like the instrument cluster, as all the above faults go via the cluster. ive experienced similar problems with stilo's and punto's mk2/b
