Wow! Excellent, thank you! I didn't say this particular one was a scammer, just that they are out there, it pays to research the sellers history before bidding, for example. Rats, if he's not selling any more I'll have to go for the real things.
My late night, off my skull, buy was supposed to be a 5.1 surround sound system and DVD player. What I got was a HUGE cardboard box and a nice set of chrome stands, a user manual for the non existent DVD unit and a big pile of cabling to which I could one day attach a set of speakers and a sub. If only I had any <sigh>.
Lots of fun today when collecting the Dynamic. A quick trot round revealed two deep gouges into the bodywork on the passenger side. Brilliant service from the garage, they rushed it back to the workshop to "see what they could do" before you could say "full rub down, prime and respray in matching paint please". The sales guy we were left with suggested we might like to nip off and get the tax sorted. But we decided to wait. And back the car came, complete with two deep gouges now neatly blended to the body with the subtle and impressive use of a.....paint stick! Gob smacked doesn't really sum it up. Especially when I swiped the paint back off with one fell swoop. The wife - with amazing calm and politeness I thought - told them they could have it back and she'd go pick another one from the display. So, we've had TWO 1.2 Dynamics today, but the second one has apparent immaculate bodywork and is now parked outside.
Great little cars, aren't they? :D

You have to be so careful when buying on line. I brought some LED car bulbs more than a week ago, they said they're supposed to be dispatched the same day. I paid 28 quid for them. If they're not here by tomorrow i'm going to complain and get my money back.

I can't believe they just touched it up!!! I'd have battered someone.

Had I been on my own, if she'd not been with me, were I younger and fitter (you only have to get me talking fast for me to fall over these days) etc, etc. Once upon a time I'd probably have lost it and gone for somebody's throat - and stomped away with nothing to show for it all. But it was her day, her first ever car purchase and I was so taken aback at the sheer front of it all, I couldn't react in a suitable manner <ahem>. I did, much later, when we came back to collect the second car, wave a still, blue paint stained finger at the collections guy as we drove away ;)
In fairness they were spot on, no fuss, no bother, once we'd firmly rejected the vehicle, just took back the first reg' paperwork and spare key, got her to sign the new set and we were good to go. I did, briefly, wonder if that now means they can't resell the first car until they get a replacement V5, but to be honest, I don't really care either as it's pretty obvious there was a strong element of them trying to push in the hopes the mug, ooops, buyer, would just swallow a minor fault and drive away.
I also wonder how many people, in the excitement of collecting a new vehicle, sign the paperwork in the office without physically checking body condition and disappear over the horizon, waving cheerfully at the sales staff, all of whom breathe a sigh of relief that you didn't spot the scrape they caused in the workshop during PDI....

Well that's two of you. I found the seller again and did a "Buy it Now" about ten minutes back. So, sometime next week with luck and maybe she'll give me some peace on the subject;)

Hi, I live on S Wales as well. There is a Poundland in Newport buts its a rubbish one. The one in Cwmbran is much better for cheap car stuff and has quite a big range.

Let me know what the strips are like as I was after a set as well, have you a link of where you get them from on eBay?

According to UPS tracking, they've reached Lodz from Krosniewice so are on the way......

Arrived this morning - that's five days from Poland including a weekend! They're on, and as far as this old fart reckons, look great. One side might be just a tad lower than the other, but I didn't wait for assistance (who does?). I've no problems recommending them and would only suggest that you get somebody to at least stand behind you and make sure they're straight, level and aligned to each other. Heh, wise after the event as usual. So BIG thanks specifically to petrolhead and mozzy, spot on guys.
