ok ive heard that the panda 100 is a really fun car. but i was wondering which people think is better? is the 500 with the 100hp the same as the panda 100hp?or not as good?

as it is based on the panda...i wonder if the 500 is up there with the highly loved panda. or is the panda in a different league of its own?

Neither. Buy the multijet diesel version of either and get Angel tuning to tweek it and you'll get at least 35 bhp more than standard multijet which is at least 110bhp (I think) for £325 more than the car!

Just played with the Panda on Fiats website and used a diesel Panda, put funky wheels, air con and a couple of toys on it, added Angel tunings price and found it slightly cheaper and obviously more powerful than the 100 bhp Panda list price.

Keep it fairly subtle and surprise every bugger at the lights!

Worth thinking about?

The sporty looks of the panda 100hp would outweigh the 10bhp increase for me tbh

Not everyone wants to remap their cars. Why not buy the more powerful model to start with. Both are great cars, so probably just down to personal preferance. 500 might retain more value...

They are very different cars by all accounts; you've just got to take each one on an extended test drive (preferably over the exact same route) and see which one puts a smile on your face. Which might be both!

And if the dreaded 'D-Word' is looming large in your mind, then I'd suggest you don't even consider buying new. The 500 may be a better long term prospect for depreciation (but it's by no means certain) but you'll have to balance that against the initial greater outlay, particularly as dealers don't need to discount at the moment.

After driving the 500 100hp I would certainly say the Panda is better.

The 500 feels a lot slower than the Panda and to me sounded like a diesel.

Wait for the abarth 500 to come out then buy that!!

I drove both and went for the 500 (100hp). They both looked great, but the 500 had something about it that just made you want it more. It's cute retro looks just made it more desirable to me. The Panda felt a little cramped too esp the passenger leg space and was a little bland inside, whereas the 500 was stunning inside with plenty of legroom.

I know what you mean about the 500.

The interior is sublime. and it is very cool.

Just needs some go to match the looks.

I've driven both, in short...

The Panda is fantastic, feels very precise with the steering and definitely a light car but the suspension is very very hard

The 500 isn't as quick, feels a bit dead until 3/4 k, probably due to the extra weight. Feels wider, possibly a bit higher ride but I felt more confident throwing it at corners.

For the sake of looks, depreciation, extras and the other choices at the dealership you'll have I'd go for the 500...Test drive both

i bet you would lose more money on the 500.

I don't know about that, I would have thought the 500 would hold a lot more value than the Panda with it being so sought after.

I liked the Panda, but I loved the 500. The 500 has something about it, not just the asthetics, the technology too, it's a wonderful car :)

Think about it, there are going to be alot more 500s on the road than 100hps on the road, the panda will hold its value better its basic supply and demand.

Agree with that, the 100hp is more performance orientated. Plus 500s make you look gay. If your already gay then its pefect, but if your not then you may aswell put on your cowboy hat.

I have a 500 and I'm 100% hetro mate, maybe your hiding something...BTW what car have you got thats sooo manly??? a Grande Punto??? I rest my case ;)
