This is affecting other cars on the forum more than my Panda although I still think its a damn cheek.. If I had kept my old 1.6 stilo it would have had to pay £205 pounds per year under the new increase robbing gits

My biggest problem is the way it's been presented. It's an increase for "environmental" reasons which doesn't sit well with me. I have friends with current band F and G cars who are being hit hard, despite the fact that they are only weekend cars which do maybe 5k miles a year so their actual CO2 output per year is probably less than most company car drivers who will easily rack up 4 times the miles.

The fairest way would be to just have the tax in fuel to have a pay as you go type system but I'd rather not have that as I'm a high mileage user

we already have this though eh, called Fuel Tax. If your car pollutes more, it will generally use more fuel.. and therefore you pay more tax. If you drive a lot, you use more fuel.. and therefore you pay more tax. Adding more and more tax takes the urine.
