hello i do not know the power my 1,3 is putting out.. but the clutch didnt hold up for the 3/4 ajustment of my diesel box very long! there is as far as i know, no reinforced gearbox! i have driven 48.000km in mine over half done tuned with a diesel box. the power comes suddenly over 2500rpm

im now driving with the box turned on 4/4.. this would kill a standard clutch the same day! but i got a different clutch in so it would work! and it does. a larger intercooler frontmounted is used also!
soon a larger turbo and a real remap.

havnt had problems with my gearbox..

I think you've hit the nail on the head there TDQ. I know a lot of people with VAG cars who kill their DMF's and clutches running standard power because they have no mechanical sympathy. My last 3 cars have all run these boxes and been "enjoyed" on road and track and all have been sold with the original clutch still going strong, despite people telling me that the car could not handle the extra power.

I tend to drive diesels like petrols and use revs rather than torque when driving briskly. This means that the drive train is subjected to far less torque when compared to accelerating hard from very low revs and subjecting it to peak torque each time. It also meant that the dual mass flywheels were also fine when I sold the cars too...

Okay, so its just the clutch that seems to be the issue?

I guess it depends upon how you drive it really.

yah normal i dont go past 2500rpm.
i dont think the gearbox is so weak as everyone is saying... i try drive realy carefull when not racing (? not trashing it all the time)

my clutch will hold 145hp /300nm sintermetal.
when the new turbo is fitted i will proberly limmit the torqe in the low rpm and go for more hp only.! currently starting to play alittle with the boost pressure so will se if i can get below 9sek on the GTECH... currently going 9.16sek

current boost is short time 1,4(read Very short time) normaly going around 1,1 on a greddy digital boost gauge.

it smokes abit when full throtle so it must be running ritch ... will be getting a plx R-500 wideband sensor!

You only use 2500rpm? Really?

I use 4500rpm regularly when driving mine. I would say in regular driving i change up about 3000rpm. Its dog slow otherwise.

Have you lost any of the progressive feel to it? Is it on or off and nothing inbetween?

Tbh as standard its pretty much all or nothing. I have really struggled going from a petrol to a diesel in that respect. I expect it will still be lag-tastic even with a chip, but if when the power comes in it is enough to keep up with regular traffic without caning it, then that would be a result.

well the only downside is that it can sometimes shake abit.. but otherwice i can release almost like normal. and it is not hard to push down either..

well i can drive below 2500rpm ... well not doing more than 107km/t then i need to go higher..

i get boost as low as 1500rpm 0.2bar..

this video shows the car an a 0-150km/h

you cant count 100% on the speed shown in the clip because the converter changed it abit but 0-100 in the video was about 9.5 IRL (rember it hits REAL 100km/h at about 105)

have just played around with the boost ... used a bleedvalve! well i can say the turbo is to small to give the needed air to get more power....but did get a better responce and some smother boost..
