I'm looking at buying a 100HP in September, and had intended to fit roof rails, so that I could carry my bike, and extend the slightly limited load capacity. All the online sites including Fiat, allow you to configure your car with roof rails. I asked the salesman at Rayrigg in Windermere, and he said they weren't available. He showed me a leaflet on Pandas, and indeed, the option was shown as unavailable.

If I can't fit roof rails, I might have to revert to a Grande Punto Sporting 1.4, but would rather have the Panda.
Does anyone know what the situation is?

I'm pretty sure we've had this roof rail debate before but as far as I'm concerned my 100hp has the fixing points with caps on the roof. So I would imaging it's just a case of buying the rails for the Panda as normal and fitting them yourself.

Hi Naj, roof rails still listed on the FIAT configurator as a £175.00 option. I certainly have a picture by one of our continental friends showing a 100HP with them fitted and if memory serves me right someone on here (in New Orleans Blue?) in the UK has them. I'd recommend taking a large pinch of salt with you when you next see your dealer...

Yes indeed some dealers will tell you that certain things are not available when they really are...

When I went into one dealership and got spun a yarn on "You can't have that!", I got them to log into the Fiat website and configure the car, till they went, "Oh, you can!" Alternatively configure the car you want on the Fiat website and print it off and bring it with you...

Why did you have to do that mate? I was quite content thinking I didn't want the roof rails on my hp. But now that I see it again I do like 'em and might consider adding them. Mind you I still don't know if I could justify them as I couldn't bear to spoil the lines with a roof box, bikes or old bed.

My roof rails are just for show i wouldnt put anything on them. I've only got them coz they were on my Panda MJ and the dealer wouldnt give me anything for them when i P/X so took them off my MJ and put them on my HP

Wise move mate.

They work well with the black mouldings.

PS. Bet your tyre walls aren't as black now.

No there not, but a good spray of tyre shine gets them looking nice again.

Now done 2,500 miles in my 100HP and still loving every minute of it.

It looks like its going to be the 100hp then .
The trouble is I'm tied in to a contract on my Ibiza till September, so I'll have to wait a while.

They'll be a whole batch of new warm micro hatches about by then so don't make up your mind too soon.
