General Workshop Manual (english)

Fiat dealer on cd for around £60 from what I've heard.

Can you please tell me which dealer are you referring to, I have been online but found no mention of a maintenance or workshop manual for the panda. Even emailed Haynes manuals, but they keep telling me they have no plans to publish a Panda 2004 manual. I wonder if anyone reading this has one???

I doubt that at present you will find any New Panda manual other than the official Fiat one from the dealer.
We should all e-mail Haynes however so that they will realise there is a demand for this manual, then they might produce one.

Generally they dont seem to produce a manual till more than 3-4 years after. Ie i've only just been able to get a Volvo S40 manual which covers 2000-2003, so dont hold your breath. I would imagine all of the pandas engines are covered in either the punto mk2a manual or other fiat manuals.

Failing that go down your dealer (FIAT) and ask for the manual, its always a good idea to get one thrown in to the purchase, as it must cost them peanuts.

Haynes don't produce manuals that quick for new cars... It's usually at least four years after the car is released. I presume that as most cars are covered by warranty till they're at least three years old, and to maintain the warranty the car must be serviced by the dealer, Haynes don't see the need to produce a manual any quicker as they would expect demand for manuals to be low until such times there would be many cars of an age where warranty doesn't count any more and then the owner would be servicing their own car. I can't see there being a Haynes manual for the Panda for at least another year.

Except that if you've done a good enough negotiation, they've made precious little on the sale, and are hoping to recoup on expensive servicing --- they would'nt then want you to have a manual.

that's what I think too, nowadays car manufacturers tend to discourage do-it-yourselfers. It used to be nice playing around under the bonnet, have always serviced and repaired my previous cars. Dont even know the spark plug gaps for this one.

Have got a haynes workshop manual at long last, albeit printed on very cheap paper making some of the pictures illegible, but it's better than nothing I guess.
It also doesn't state a simple thing like the measurement of the spark plug gap. I know they are factory preset, but what if you drop one out of the box?
