I guess it depends on what you mean by "worth it". And therefore on your priorities. If you mean helping to sell the car after a year or two, then it will be the usual suspects: air con pack with roof rails, metallic, alloys, fogs.

Skydomes are very appealing for many and comparatively rare on the 2nd hand market.. therefore might (at consderable cost) make your secondhand Panda more desirable. That said this might be outweighed by a lack of confidence in Fiat's ability to fit something like the skydome without rattles and water getting in after a while......

Climate Control (instead of the aircon pack) is costly and does not include roof rails, but some here wouldn't be without it.

Personally, I find the split/slide rear seat massively increases the car's practicality. You can quickly move from the citycar micro-boot to a proper size boot and back again depending on if you have any passengers or not. Well worth the £200.

I also splurged out on the ESP, and the extra bags. Which are probably utterly useless if you only assess extras by their resale value. But I wanted the seat height adjust (with bags) and the active safety of ESP plus hillholder: so I got them. I didn't want alloys (ride matters to me more than aesthetics) or skydome (I hate too much light) so I didn't. I didn't want the speaker upgrade... but that's just because I hardly ever want to listen to music. For you it might be the best extra of all.

In other words there's no right or wrong answers here - it depends on if you spec a car for future resale or for your own enjoyment. Given that Pandas - any spec - are worth so little anyway after a few years, I think you might as well just get what you most want and can afford!

Best deal - read the thread "What did you pay for your Panda"

Perhaps the only possible "must have" is aircon, even if you are the sort of person who loves riding around in a mobile sauna. I think it will get increasingly difficult to unload any car in any class if it does not have at least manual air conditioning. And you get the roof rails too...

The ones i chose were air con (a must have) and fogs, as i really think they add to the looks of the car and its only about £100. Fuel locking cap is a must have for only £20, you'll prob want fiat mats too.

The speaker upgrade is worth the extra, it doesn't cost much and i regret not getting it now, but i've heard the standard speakers are pretty good anyway.

Other than that there are safety features, esp, airbags... depends on how much you want to spend on extras really. Then there are the alloys, personally i couldn't justify £400 for them, the standard wheels look nice enough.

Just set yourself a budget and decide whats essential to you.

I ordered mine for only around £6700 from fiat supasaver with the extras i listed, you won't get much cheaper than them, but if your lucky a local dealership might match the price...

Options i wish i had gone for are:

Speaker upgrade, cos i like my bass.

Skydome : looks great on a white panda

Roof bars: so i could lug my bike around.

But i was to impatient to wait for the car and took one they had in stock with no options..

I would say sit down and think if you would use the option's, roof bars, split rear seat etc, or if you like the look of the car better with the option, alloys, fogs, roof, etc.

Had my Mj since 05 done 55k red extra alloys as i reckon std is undertyred if i had to buy again add split seat everything else money wasted lights are good anyway air con why buy a fuel efficient car to waste fuel chilling the air. Stereo is pretty good anyway. Fiat supersaver & Perrys always seem cheap & more importantly build quality is good so worth not going to local dealers who tend to be not good.

Speaker upgrade is well worth it. Also aircon or preferably climate control which is infinitely better.

I had an MJ with aircon. I now have a 100hp with the speaker upgrade, obviously it comes with climate control as standard. It really is so much better than manual aircon. However to add that to an MJ is an expensive option.

Weighing it up i'd go for the speaker upgrade and aircon.

It does make me smile when people reply to a thread like this without checking the OP date :p

I know opinions on subjects like this are always valid, but as the original question was asked over 2 years ago I'm pretty sure the OP isn't still looking.
