I'm thinking of ordering another keyfob from the dealer. My car came with one remote keyfob and one normal key - is that normal btw?

Are these simple to code into the car? Will Fiat try and fleece me? Are there instructions online somewhere?

Any input appreciated.

Think my dealer quoted somewhere around £130 for another, not as bad as a lot but still a bit rude as they only give you one in the first place.

Hmm, that is steep when you can buy a VAG one for much much less on fleabay and get a key cut. Coding it is just a case of going through a few motions with both keys.

Could be wrong but I get the impression the immobiliser bit is in the metal part of the key rather than the remote, hence why the standard key isn't a remote, so don't think it's a case of just getting one cut.

Might not be true in VWs case, perhaps their security is cruder than some, but a lot of remotes sold on Ebay are worthless and will never work even if you go to the dealer as they have to be ordered from the factory for a particular car.
