Morning All,

My 1st post (as I now have the car) but have been lurking for a few weeks.

Can you please help me with the location of the CD changer and sub woofer in the 100HP.

I ordered mine via a broker via the web and never got to see a car before mine turned up on a transporter on Saturday.

As I was very exited I failed to fully inspect the inside to see if all the requested options were fitted. It now seems as though I am missing the above items. Before I go ballistic at the supplier I want to make sure I/m not making a 'numpty' mistake,

I have pics of the car in all it's glory on my Flickr site here.

These include a pic of under the drivers seat which is where I am lead to belive the sub should be?

Hope the collected wisdom of this forum can help :)

Thanks

Darren

Hi Darren, congratulations on having such good taste as to buy a 100HP and to join the FF! Nice photo set you have there too.

I'm sure someone will be able to clarify this sub-woofer thing; I'm sure I read on here somewhere that yes it should be under the driver's seat. However, when I asked my local dealer he wasn't able to confirm this (he said it was "unlikely") and he suggested it would be in the boot taking up the space above the n/s/r wheelarch (as in Mk2 Puntos). But I guess you would have spotted that by now!

Subwoofer should definitely be under the drivers' seat - see a pic of mine:

I do not have a CD changer (decided they were a bit 1990s), but my dealer said they'd probably put it in the boot if I had one. Have you looked under all four seats for the CD change? Its not a very big car to hide things in!

Thanks guys.

I have had a good look around, as you say Trefor, it's not a big car ;) Can't see anything, under my drivers seat is all empty.

Only went with the CD player as I don't like having loads of CDs in the car (they rattle when cornering hard) so a MP3 CD player is a great option for me. 8-12 Albums per disk x 6. More than enough for me.

What do you think the chances that the wiring is in place?

I will get onto the dealer this afternoon.

Shame about this as otherwise the car is fantastic. I have had a varied mix of different cars including a Toyota MR2 Roadster, MINI Cooper S and Jaguar S-Type R and this rates highest in the bang per $. Light like the MR2, handles like the MINI and nearly as many toys as the Jag (not the same in a straight line though 400BHP was pretty quick).

Cheers

Darren

Excellent Taste Darren picking White (y)
Where did you get that Red Scorpian from it looks brill

Cheers everyone,

It took a bit of effort to get the wife to agree to white but I think it stands out. Not that the other colours are bad just white is a bit more 'left field' and I needed that after 5 blue or black cars in a row.

The red scorpion came from eBay, I was so exited that I had this 4 weeks before the car sat on my desk teasing. The link to the seller is here.

The multichanger if fitted is in the glovebox and I hate to break bad news to you but it's only the dashboard headunit that plays MP3's, not the multichanger it only plays normal cd's otherwise I wouldn't have bothered with it either :(

Sounds like I've benefited from not having the changer them :)

Will still chase to have the sub fitted as the standard speakers seem a little under powered. Unless anybody has a better solution for the £400 I will save?

You could buy an after market component set (6.5" woofers + tweeters) and install it like I did.

If need be, you could also buy a component set for the rear doors (5.25" woofers + tweeters).

You do need to cut a bit to fit the tweeters but it's not that hard :)

You could even fit a 4-channel amplifier to drive all the speakers or perhaps a 5-channel amplifier if you plan to install a subwoofer in the boot.

But I would say, that buying a component speaker set for the front doors is money well spend. I paid 1199DKK (ca. £110) for my Rainbow SLX-265 Deluxe component set and 299DKK (ca. £28) for a set of front door speaker frames for the Panda.
