External door handles donít spring back down

Hello
I am new here; just bought an Orange 2012 TwinAir 4x4. I love it and Iím just sorting out a few niggles. Iím enjoying the forum too.

Three of the external door handles (driverís door is fine) stay up when you use them They all work but donít seem to have a spring to pull them back down. Internal handles are all ok.

Must be caused by lack of use but does anyone know what I need to do or what to replace?

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure if the handles are the same, but the O/S/R door handle on our 2010 Panda Dynamic Eco started doing the same thing. I first tried just working it repeatedly but it made no difference. Then I liberally sprayed WD40 up inside it as much as I could and it's behaved fine ever since.

Hi thanks, yes Iíve tried plenty of WD40 externally. But no joy so far. I will try spraying from the inside too.

Having read too many similar tales of woe on here, I’ve got into the habit of “exercising” all the door handles — inside and out — every now and then.

I do this too. Also, use the key in the driverís door lock now and again, even though I have remote locking, so the lock is kept happy (if key battery fails, or key falls in a puddle and stops working, itís good to know the mechanical lock will still work). I also turn the mains stop tap at home every once in a while to stop it seizing - Ďpreventative maintenanceí is never a bad thing
