Brake discs

Does someone know if the Panda 2012 onwards 1.2 69HP brake discs are the same or different from the 2011 Panda 1.2 69HP. I know the pads are not the same. S4P have different part numbers. Thanks

Re: Brake discs

Front discs on the post 2012 cars are 257mm diameter. Pre-2012 they were 240mm.
Thanks The Panda Nut thanked for this post

Many thanks for this. Blueprint .com parts actually cheaper than S4P at just £26 the pair. (Pads £15) I will drop them on in a few weeks for the MOT. am still mighty impressed with the quality. Honing marks are quite beautiful.

Rather suspected the set I have unnecessarily just bought for the 169 were different. (your discs are quite worn and the pads down to 30% Sir. Actually the discs were still 11mm thick so virtually unworn, and pads at more like 60% remaining. Should have gone to Spec savers.

Re: Brake discs

Iíve been pleasantly surprised at how long the discs and pads last on my 4x4 MJs. At 32k miles, just checked mine today and found still plenty of life in both. This carís predecessor also saw 40k plus before front pads needed changing. I am quite gentle with brakes and tyres, but even so, those on the Panda does seem to be quite long-lasting.

The light weight of the Panda probably helps a lot

Yes, I think it does
Perhaps unusually though, at least with the three 4x4s I've owned, the wear is pretty even front to rear (both brakes and tyres) - whereas other cars of mine (FWD) have all worn the front brakes and tyres at about twice the rate of the rears.

Re: Brake discs

On my Panda i get even wear on the tyres as when the front tyres get down to about 4 - 4.5mm I switch them to the back & put the better hardly worn rear tyres on the front then replace all 4 tyres at the same time, I changed the original Fiat discs for Brembo at 24,700 miles just before the MOT as the discs felt slightly warped when braking & found quite a few comments on the forum about this problem on Panda's & 500's so must be quite common, also put Brembo pads in & 4 new Avon ZT7 tyres on at the same time. My old Bravo 1.2 16v(known as the green pig) that I had when I was 18-19 years old used to eat tyres like they were going out of fashion.

Re: Brake discs

I need to replace the front discs and pads on my wee yellow beastie (4x4 TwinAir Cross) before its MOT next month. (I'm going to let Mr Fiat do the rears... it's worth the £190 he's quoted to avoid the pain & misery.)

I've found these Brembo discs on the Autodoc website (which is a total pain to navigate) & at £20.02 each (vented, 257mm. coated), they're much cheaper than I can find them anywhere else, and much cheaper than Pagid, which would have been my go-to option.

Am I missing something? Are these the right ones?

Re: Brake discs

It looks like Fiat made a bunch of changes to the Panda in 2015. It seems they changed the brake discs from vented to solid. The link below gives the changeover date as being 26/05/15 but I'd have an actual look at what you've got on your car before buying.
https://www.fiatworkshop.co.uk/parts...ke_Discs.shtml

My 2016 has solid discs and I used Apec DSK551 which I'd say are just as good as Brembo. I bought them from Aceparts on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/392064952236 That's showing for me as £26.91 for the pair with the code PURCHASE4LESS.
Slightly cheaper here at 2 for £25? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324721355555

Failing that, here's Autodoc's solid Brembo options:
