hi all another nubi to fiat
just bought a new fiat panda cross 2020 year
was surprised how much it had in common with my iveco daily switches and the u connect
system etc
what a performance though to pair up the Bluetooth to my phone works ok but basic and no reverse cam or built in sat nav although i believe these are options on the continent ok so i knew this when i bought it as i thought not to big a job to fit a Chinese android system with everything built in
so bought my £70 Chinese android single din with retractable 7inch screen and a facia plate
first job remove the uconnect insert 2 suitable nails into the dash but its a swine to come out as nothing to hold go into garage and get a small suction cup type used to pull out small dents stick to front of radio and pull comes out a treat
loads of room behind radio for wiring so off to ebay for iso can bus and steering wheel connector and adaptor no one does one for this car spoke with technical at 2connect they dont have anything so looks like a custom job required so buy a cheap fiat iso lead £3 this plugs into existing wiring fine then look at speaker wiring and my car only has 2 speakers at the front now that i didnt know lol back to e bay buy some suitable speakers for the rear to fit either side of parcel shelf ok
then look for power there is a permanent 12v on the existing connecter so remove pins on cheapo iso and replace in suitable position to suit the factory wiring plug usb lead in from the phone holder socket then next job pick up an accessory fed 12v from the ignition there isnt an accessory position on the key (off ignition start) so fit a small tempary switch on the existing 12v permeant supply so i can switch the thing on and off (later job fit a timer so that it turns off auto after a preset time) so now i have a 7 inch android with sat nav and rear view camera and a good bluetooth that works with the phone and other things next step is to find a can bus box to get the steering wheel controls hooked up or further investigation to see how they are wired might be able to get away with out one if they are just resistive to the ecu and can make sense of the wiring so can anyone point me in the direction of a proper shop manual for this car as i cant find one or a steering wheel wiring diagram thanks gary

fitted radio now take a look at my post in the ice section gives a few photos there
