I've just bought a 64 reg Panda 4x4. It's in fab condition other than the central console cupholder which is extremely worn. Is this relatively easy to replace? I'm very much not mechanically minded and wonder what the best option is e.g. replace it or is there a polish/lacquer that will bring it up new?

Could you post a photo?
If it's very worn then a surface dressing isn't going to work, probably have to sand it with progressively finer grit paper. I've had good results on hard plastic starting with 280 grit, then 320, 600, 800, 1000 then 2000 and a final polish but you'll loose any surface texture - really, best to find a good secondhand one but that's not going to be easy.
Could hide it with a coffee cup!

Do you see the part here?

https://www.fiatdalys.lt/en/catalog/parts/705/4/10/2/33/0/0/CC0.9/CMBBZ/GDX/shaft-tunnel-console

If you scroll down the page prices are indicated but it also gives an insight as to what is connected to what.

Note that my search in Fiatdalys (the link above) is based on my '63 model but you can change that.

My perfectionist nature won't cope with putting a cup there to mask it. I think replacing it with a second hand one seems the best option. Thank you though ?

Thank you. I think i'll need to look for a used one and find someone to do it for me. I wish there was some magic lotion that would bring it up new. The rest of the car is in great condition so it must have had a lot of use.

Magic Lotion - why didn't you say!.

I use "303 Aerospace Protectant".
It's an anti-UV treatment for plastic and is excellent on any plastic trim, external or internal. You can get it off the internet for the same money as the usual plastic dressings and it really brings old plastic to like new. Try it, you've got nothing to loose as it will bring the rest of the car's plastic back even if the cup holder remains "worn".

l'll have a look thank you. It might bring it to an acceptable standard for me to live with. I've still got the blues from selling my new car and going to a 6 year old car so anything that can freshen it up will help.

My cup holder is very worn from all the times when I've rammed my steel insulated mug into it, in a (usually futile) attempt to stop it from tipping over when I go around corners. It's now almost round. The last thing I'd want to do is to replace it with a new squircly one. It may look worn, but at least it now works (after a fashion).
