Hi,
I am being lazy. Where can I get rear brake discs? Or more generally where do you get spare parts. It is getting to that age........

Peter

Two part answer:
First, for the parts, https://www.shop4parts.co.uk are a Fiat parts specialist and I highly recommend them

But the second part: the rear discs are nearly on the far side of impossible to remove... you need to have lots of time, maybe some extra tools and ideally a lift. I’ll search for, find, and then link here in an edit the post that helpfully explained how to make the seemingly impossible possible

[edit] Read the thread here: https://www.fiatforum.com/panda-iii/437398-4x4-rear-brake-discs-3.html?p=4377889 - this link goes to post number 42 that (along with the one that follows it) explains how to get to removing the disc (the challenge is gaining access to remove the calliper bolts). you might read back through the whole thread to see what you are up against, maybe starting at post #13 which summarises those that precede it

By the way, here's where I looked - the all-powerful search of this forum is very good... you need to be on the Panda homepage, not in a thread, otherwise it only searches the specific thread you are in. It appears near the top right corner, under the photos of members' motors

Thanks for the two part answer. I tried shop4parts, but only have front discs. I have dealt with them before, website sometimes has issues, but phoning/email them gets a good response. Shall contact them in the morning.

I put the job off before because of the "there be dragons", but fairly competent after 40+ years of fixing cars, vans, tractors etc. But thanks for the thread link.

Again Thanks Peter

I wouldn't entirely agree with Herts H. Definitely agree on the spares source, the pad kit especially which was cheapest I could find anywhere and OEM. The discs are relatively pricy (compared to fronts) but that's due to their being less common I suspect.

On the second point; I'd say that key "tool" is patience and have some good hex key sockets and the E style bolt (inside out TORX) sockets. It can be done with a trolley jack and axle stands (for safety).

Good luck and disconnect the damper (at the bottom) and ABS sensor (allen bolt).

I have now completed.
Key tools were a E18 socket, 8mm long socket mounted allen key and best of all a breaker bar with a compact ratchet head. You need the length but have limited angular swing. I did try a 3/8" sq E18 thinking i might get better clearance, but the 1/2" bigger body helps centralise. I did not remove the damper or the abs sensor, just unclipped the lead and hose from the trailling arm to give a bit more flex. With the long 8mm i did not have much hassle or have the jam the hub, it self positioned.
