Hi
I have just swapped my Grande Punto for a Panda 4x4 as I have recently moved to the top of a hill in rural Lancashire that gets some snow.
So far so good - need to replace front pads but otherwise no surprises (so far).
I would like to smarten up the alloy wheel as there are a few scuffs which I would like to sort out.
I have searched the forum but cannot find anything on the paint code for the wheels or any source of paint that looks ok?
Has anyone had any success in finding something that works?
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris

I've had several sets of alloy wheels fully refurbished over the years, and while some of them were bog-standard silver I also had them done in a much brighter sparkling silver that really 'popped' in bright sunlight.

Through the process of getting these done, a lot of questions and answers were presented to the refurbisher (an excellent company based in Swindon) and I would think that any company worth their salt could easily match the colour for you.

If however, you are considering undertaking the work yourself, then any good paintshop would/should be able to do the same; match and supply you with the paint. The only problem being - the paint would unlikely come in rattle-cans.
Having said that there are also companies out there that specialise in providing old paint colours or even custom colours in spray cans - I know because I recently acquired paint for a '79 MG - though admittedly I had a code to start with.

Not much help identifying the right colour I know, but possibly food for thought

There have been various versions of the alloys on the 4x4, and each a different colour. My 2013 one had bright silver (original) alloys. The 2017 car had a much darker grey metallic. And the current 2018 one has lighter grey. in each case, teh actual wheel design was different too... And at one point, some of the 'specials' (such as the Antarcitca) had dark grey allows but with shiny sliver highlights!

Wow, Fiat know how to complicate things.
Mine is a 2015 with dark grey alloys.
One of them has a scuff on the rim. I have previously improved similar damage using body filler and then spraying. I was hoping to do the same with these but I don't really want one wheel to look a different colour but I also don't want to spray over 3 perfect wheels.
Looks like I am going to have to try to get a colour match from a paint supplier.

If the scuffs are only on the rims why not try self adhesive plastic strip alloy wheel protectors which adhere to the rim & you can have any colour you like. It normally comes in a coil length sufficient to do four wheels. We have used it for a number of years (ours is red) it looks great & protects your rims against kerb damage & is easy to replace.

Thanks Kims Panda
I've not seen these protectors before. I will do some investigating.
Chris

Apologies not been online for a while.
Yes they are known as Rimblades or Alloy Rim protectors (use this in Google search). You can get a set for about £15.00! We got ours on eBay!
