Look at the hoses going through the bulkhead

If its a 1242 petrol..
This is an opportunity to replace the thermostat

Re: fiat panda pop 2012

I have just done our two and have decided there are two tips. One is that this may need doing more than once. The other is a little pressure helps to displace the air. After lots of bleeding I decided to take the radiator cap off and blow into it while the bleed valve is open. It does have the advantage that you can see when the correct level is reached in the header bottle if rather a crude solution. The bleed screw is on top of a hose found looking down the right had side of the engine above the gear box and can be cracked off with a short screw driver if its a little tight. It had a little plastic wheel to allow for opening and closing by hand. I suspect the dealers have a radiator pressure pump. Don't allow any antifreeze into your mouth as it is poisonous. It worked for me. Haynes manual says there are no bleed screws on the radiator on the Panda. I always wash away coolant with clean water once the job s done to get rid of the sticky residue and smell.

Re: fiat panda pop 2012

hi
my panda is a pop 1.2 petrol year 2012.
please can see send me a guide step by step how you changed the coolant. which pipe to disconnect from the radiator. so there is only one bleed screw. i thought that there is one on the top right near the radiator cap because there is a metal bolt.

Don't forget the bleeder on the radiator too, often forgotten or not known about.

Re: fiat panda pop 2012

Here is the bleed screw on the radiator. Also undo it when draining the system. When filling make sure you fill the radiator first and ideally mix the coolant first. Once a steady stream comes out of the radiator bleed with no bubbles then tighten it while it still is flowing, expect to loose some coolant. Then proceed to the top hose with the bleeder screw again keep adding coolant till it runs with no bubbles tighten the screw with coolant still running. Top up to maximum, run the engine till the fan runs which may take a while, then check level with the engine cold. Top up if necessary.

Re: fiat panda pop 2012

Hi.
Buy a suitable jubilee clip for the hose at the bottom of the radiator before you remove the hose from the lower part of the radiator. It's a good idea to replace the thermostat at the same time and get an alloy housing as well as the Fiat one isn't long lasting.
