Can anyone recommend roof bars preferably black in colour to fit the Panda 4x4 side roof rails? Cheers

I have the Thule WingBar Edge bars on my Cross. Looks like they're also available for closed bars and in black :) They are quite expensive, though.

For the 4x4 I'd recommend Fiat's own roof bars. I used them on my 4x4 they are so quick and easy to put on and take off. They fit so well as there are little holes on the inside of the roof bar that position and hold them perfectly.

re Mark Hurst's suggestion of Wingbar Edge. They are certainly quiet and look the part, and are available in black. But expensive. I have these on my Panda Cross - I'm not sure how they'd fit on a regular 4x4 as the strap that holds them in place needs to pass underneath the roof bar. Fine for raised roof bars like the Cross, but not for the rail style on the 4x4.

The other thing to note with Wingbars is that they are wider than most roof bars - too wide for some of the U-bolts on some roof boxes. There is a way round that, by buying T-track bolts which slide in to the T-track that runs along the top of the wingbar. These cost extra. They're not that that much more, but they still seem expensive for what they are.

I agree with this. Also, the genuine Fiat bars, which are actually made by Thule, cost much less (from Fiat) than buying the Thule bars, feet and adaptors from anywhere else! The Fiat bars also have the T-track slot in them, and are quite 'aero' shaped. Mine are on the car all the time and I can't hear them. Here’s the genuine Fiat bars on my 4x4 (photo attached. I've cut the rubber strip short so the bike carrier can slide into the T-track). They fit all Panda models with flush roof rails but not the Cross model. (The Cross use different means of connecting the the car to the others - the link here for the non-Cross models, but includes the 4x4) https://www.glynhopkinpartsonline.c...oof-rack-bars-for-roof-rail-mounting-50926337

Thanks for your help. Looking on eBay for a set of used fiat ones but they are very rare.

Hi Herts,

So I ordered that exact same part but the mounting looks different. Looks like you need to take the front and back off the longitudinal bars and mount them to the car?? No quick release. Can yours do something similar and it's just a way of setting them up?
Hope you are still on here haha

Answered in your other thread... sounds like you've been supplied the wrong ones (check the last digit of the part number, all three options are mentioned in my reply to your other post)

When I bought my Cross in 2015 the dealer offered me the roof bars, that time they had none on catalogue so they gave me a set of bars compatible that were used in a Polish model that time. Unfortunalely I don't remeber the model but I'll try to sort it out if I can.
Regarding the U fixings for roof boxes I made my own bolts, full stainless steel, by welding a small square on top of an M6 ss threaded bolt and completed the sistem with a ss nut covered with a round handle inside the box. It works like a charm.
