This will make you laugh. Mot advisery...
Engine sump corroded. I've had some old cars , never had this before! My 2013 Panda owned from new full service history etc. 26000 miles.

Been quoted £400 to replace sump by the main dealer
Ha ha ha ha ha

Fiat dealers are currently asking all their service customers to make up for their covid losses ! Recently people have been given totally outrageous quotes for work from fist main dealers . I know they are normally expensive being main dealers but seriously it looks like prices are being inflated .

Some years back my wife's Ceicento got a "corroded sump" advisory. I cleaned it up in situ and slapped some Finigans Smoothrite on it and it passed for yearsd after.
£400 for a sump replacement........ludicrous!

Even if it does need a new sump £400
Is that plus vat?

ive just spent a bit of time looking at my sump after reading this. it was a bit surface rusty, so i got my trusty ACF50, and gave it a good coating. it works great on motorbikes over winter, so should be as good on this :)

Another good product for rust prevention is Bilt Hamber Dynax UC
It has an added advantage that the can will spray when held:) upside down
