Hi Guys

So I've been reading on here all the stories of the air bags on these Panda's

And I also have the passenger air bag light on, plus the "fuel cut off unavailable" message.

From what I have been reading replacing the air bag ECU is the obvious solution here, however after seeing the guide on here, I removed both footwell covers, and all I can really see is this box pictured, is this the ECU?

(sorry new member so can't post pics... pm me and I can send it to you)

I thought there were meant to be 2 of them, One for driver also?

Mine is a 2013 BTW

Can anyone confirm I'm in the right place :)

(also some of the part numbers are for Punto not Panda, but I assume as long as the part number is correct, these are inter-changable)

Thanks in advance

Hi there,

I also have the same messages on my 13 panda 4x4. Haven't had the car very long and it came as it of a blow as we have been quoted nearly £400 to have it done.

below are pics of the fault on dash and when my buddy plugged his diagnostic in.

Does anyone know where the ECU is and if its a job that an amateur can do?

You can get the part for around £80 i think but I have no idea how difficult it is to do, would love some help!

Thanks
Luke

The airbag ECU is a small black box bolted to the floor by three m10 bolts. Its located right behind the gear stick on the floor between both passenger and driver footwell. Its almost obscured by carpet and the bolts a nightmare to get at. Driver side anyway. Once removed 2 large plugs that are eay enough to plug in and out.

Any issues drop me a message.

Thanks mate

I worked it out in the end, and bought a used module from Poland which cured everything

However now I need to get the "Proxi Alignment" done lol

There is only one. its front center between both footwells. Right at the front bolted to the floor and obsured by carpet. Interchangeable if the ecu is the same part number, else it will work but will need proxi alignment done using capable diagnostics software. Again 2 mins to do this.
