I have mentioned a product which I have found to be outstanding on all black plastic repairs

Here are the details

Visibella Speedy fix two part powder glue its about £3.50 on ebay. I suspect its not COSHH friendly but by heavens its good stuff. I have fixed torn bumpers, broken Panda Air box broken de-humidifer wheel and a broken slow cooker front panel. Comes in black grey and clear. I have not vested interests in the product by the way.

If is instantaneous fix and nothing fixed with ot has so far broken again. Just ordered more.

Black plastic is a generic term for a number of different materials. Before attempting to weld or use adhesives, paint or solvents on plastic, you first need to find out what type of plastic it is.

There may be identifying marks on the part, but otherwise you can use a plastic test kit to identify what you're dealing with.

Some plastics, notably HDPE, are almost impossible to glue.
