Ok, I know the answer is probably on here somewhere however...

I can't get my new iPhone to bluetooth pair with the uconnect in my 2019 Cross. the dealer set it up for me on my old phone when I collected the car and that all worked fine.

Is there a pairing setting on the head unit? Does the phone need to be plugged in to the USB? I keep getting a message on the phone with a code which is says should be replicated on the radio but nothing on the radio then it says 'unable to pair etc'

Help/tips welcomed

So, as you've tried so far and not got it, make sure any "RADIO_BT" or variation of that is forgotten on your iPhone Bluetooth settings screen. Tap the arrow next to it and 'Forget device' so we're starting fresh,

On the Panda, if there is (but I doubt it) any phone paired I'd remove it too to start afresh.

Now, on the speedometer centre screen where the phone pairing happens, go to Settings and Pairing. Your car should now be ready to connect to.

On the iPhone, with Bluetooth on you'll see something like 'Radio BT', press ONCE to join.

Press 'Pair' when it comes up with a code on the screen, all while doing nothing on the car end. Give it time, Bluetooth is slow to propagate in my experience.

Hopefully it'll successfully pair and you can choose whether to sync contacts or not to the car (I would if it's mostly only going to be used by you). If not, try again but it can be rather frustrating.

The Panda uConnect system is so tedious and basic this best sums it up: :bang: If I knew the wheel controls and the system would be so annoying and basic I'd not have valued that so much when buying the new car lol

But when your phone is paired it'll generally always connect no issue each time you get in and drive automatically and never disconnect. Though skipping to the next track is delayed slightly and easily overloaded due to Bluetooth technology. It should prove to be reliable and convenient as it should once finally paired.

Please let me know if that works, if not I'll try do a video of me doing it which might be easier to follow once I get my Panda back. Wouldn't be a bad guide to have for everyone for future reference. :D

Perfect, thank you for the clear instructions which worked first time.

It was the use of the steering wheel button which threw me, I was looking for something on the head unit.

I agree the system is a bit basic but it does what I need i.e. make and receive calls plus play Apple iTunes

Kind regards

Mark

Glad you got it working! Enjoy your music. I wish the Panda had some sort of button to summon Siri to be able to do all sorts on the road. But it's definitely 'good enough' :slayer:

Just use 'Hey Siri' ... so long as the mic on the phone itself hears you ask this, then the Bluetooth system wakes up and you can ask Siri to do a surprising number of things. Enable 'Hey Siri' in the phone's Settings menu

It’s hit or miss as to whether the iPhone will hear me with this. I normally ‘feel’ for the phone in my pocket and hold in the side button to trigger Siri so that it hears me. There is a terrible latency for Siri and the car thinks and treats it as a call.

But yes I try to use ‘Hey, Siri’ as much as possible. A dedicated button would make the entire system perfect to me and even less hassle though

Hi SB1500

Yes please make a video of how to do this as its sending me mad. I have a new 21 Cross which I love but I just cant seem to get the Bluetooth to work or get my phone to connect using the USB cable. The owners hand book is of little help.

Maybe we need to make the date of posts clearer? This reply was to a post last added to in December 2019...

So far as I know, you cannot connect using a cable. The USB socket only provides power for charging (on models after about 2019. Prior to this you could).

- Set phone to look for Bluetooth
- Press the menu button on the steering wheel and scroll to show 'Pairing' on the display above the temperature gauge
- select Radio BT on the phone. If you need to enter a passcode, press 0000 on phone.
- pairing is complete.

you can also do it by pressing the 'speech' button on the steering wheel and saying 'pairing' after the beep.

Thanks. Herts Hillhopper. You are a star. Its done. Pushing the button on the steering wheel was the issue as I was assuming that all the set-up controls would be managed on the main unit. It seems like a very strange way to do and the manual did not really explain how to do it, but I got there with your help. Many thanks as it was sending me mad. Carrot
