I love the Twin Air motor and don't give a monkeys about the economy. Quite happy to buy a bit more juice just for the noise and performance of this engine, In any event I wanted a little 4x4 Fiat ever since I saw a Sisley somewhere running rings around big ("posh") 4x4s.
I have lost count of how many cars(and bikes) I have owned and driven over the years, and it is clear that" one mans meat is another man's poison". For example the worst car I ever owned was a Scimitar and the best, either a "knife edge style" 1600cc VW Scirocco or an E93A engine Ford Popular that cost me £5 (and a lot of work---but no expense--I was penniless at the time)
So----Make of that what you will
On further reflection, the worst car I ever had, (didn't own it, it was a company car) was at a time when Vauxhall had a TV ad that featured all the top models (cat walk versions) of the variety that apparently "don't get out of bed for less than £1000" Sometime in the '70s I think. The car was a Vauxhall Cavalier GL Estate, and it BROKE DOWN ON THE WAY HOME FROM PICKING UP AT THE DEALERS!. It staggered on using more oil than petrol for the remainder of the time I, unfortunately, had it. I have never had another Vauxhall and would not consider one even if you gave it to me.
Quite possibly Vauxhall have some good cars NOW, but that advert, coupled with the awful Cavalier I had has shot their bolt for me.
A manufacturer/dealer cannot afford to make a mess of any sale/car without putting it right quickly efficiently and without any cost to a buyer, in my view, something which was never done in this case.
My firm gave me the Cavalier when I left them(they knew it's history!) and I sold it, obviously for a profit, the only good thing about it. Vauxhall c***::bang:
