Anyone know/have a look at their own 1.2 factory fit battery specs?
What amps and CCA?

Keep having an intermittent pull on the steering on our 1.2 Pop.
I've repeatedly checked the alignment, now it has new tyres all around and another wheel alignment it still does it.

A quick look at the battery in the dark and it looks like a Halfords one, but it's tiny and looks like it's only 40 amps with 370 CCA.
It tests out ok and starts perfect but methinks it might be too weedy to power the EPAS as it seems to throw a wobbly when there's a load on the electrical system soon after a restart.

Online sellers recommendations?? ;)

Am sure something came up on an old thread once that average battery amps for a supermini was around 50amps. And Fiat put weaker ones in to save money. Was it the Battery Megastore website that had bigger choice for the 500 despite battery being identical to the one used in the Panda? Just the question was would it fit?!

Seems odd I haven't noticed in 4 years, but someone fitted one of these before we bought it at 3 years old.

My wrist watch takes a bigger battery than this!

It's had some hammering in those four years, mainly short local trips and as the car had bugger all mileage on it when we bought it, I suspect it's usage was similar before.

The battery in our old Lounge only managed 3 years from the factory, but that just gave up the ghost completely, the HB202 thing seems to start the car ok, just I reckon when it's trying to run the lights etc after starting there's not enough in it to power the EPAS properly.

Replacements seem to get listed anywhere between 40 and 60 amps depending on what you spend.
There's no stop start so it doesn't need anything fancy like an EFB, so I've taken a punt on one of these as it's listed on Exide's site as a direct replacement and Eurocarparts list it for our model as well (but twice the price)

The boy just said it driving quite well again (right after bumming some more money off me) but I think that might be due to the fact I gave it a good thrashing all day Friday.
