Hello all! Long time no speak, used to have a 100HP (Electroclash Grey, naturally) miss it greatly!

Perhaps i will return to the fold...hopefully so.

My question is.....my mam has a 2010 Panda Active Eco 1.1 with standard 155/80/R13 tyres.

She has been offered a set of steel wheels with winter tyres on, however, these are 185/55/R15 in size

is anyone able to confirm that these will fit? I think they should....as my 100HP had similar?

Thanks muchly! (EDITED to add - they are coming from a current Panda - which again makes me hopefull that they will fit the previous one)

No they wouldn't fit. Pity you don't live in Northern Ireland as I have a set of alloys the same size as the 13 inch steels with almost new Continental WinterContacts which I'm about to put up for sale as I sold my Panda earlier in the year.

I don't see why it would not fit, i know enough Panda's that run that size without a problem, but in those cases they are original Panda 312/319 wheels, being 6J wise with a offset 35.

Why wont they fit? My '07 1.2 runs on these (off a Punto Sporting).

13" alloys?

Yes. I bought 8-spoke alloys and they have winters and I also still have the 14 inch 6-spokes with almost new summer tyres too. I sold the car with its original steel wheels.

Technically, according to this website https://www.oponeo.co.uk/advice-and-tips/tyre-size-calculator/155-80-r13#alternativeTireTool they will 'fit', as the variation in rolling diameter is within acceptable tolerances.

But, because those tyres are 30mm wider, they may foul on parts of the suspension when steering, or protrude too far out from the bodywork/wheelarch (which is an MOT fail). To address the latter, Panda's with wider tyres tend to have plastic wheelarch trims or extensions (such as those seen on the 4x4 or the older 100HP models).

Also, note that to be truly effective a winter tyre needs to be narrow (as they cut through snow to the surface beneath better) - so, changing to these wheels only because they have winter tyres may actually give worse traction than the standard tyres.

That was the reason I put the winter tyres on the narrower 13 inch wheels. :)

Thank you everyone.= for your replies etc.

Well, we went for them. It was too good a deal not to, really.

We will try them and see (i'll get a pic for the forum if they are good and 'right'.)

If no good, we also have a 2014 Panda Trekking in the family that they may fit, too. (they are from a current model Panda which the owner has since sold)

If still no good, we will sell on. But a set of steelies and (barely worn) Nokian winter tyres for £50 was worth a shot.

All about the offset so you may be fine.

For our 2011 1.2 Panda our winter wheels are 20 year old Punto alloys (6.5x15) with 195/50-15 tyres. No rubbing.

Going to a larger diameter wheel, larger width and lower profile is the wrong direction to go in for winter tyres. Couple that to the fact that it sounds like these tyres are part worn (and thus may have lost their sipes) - the benefits of going to winter compound (which depending upon tyre age may be lost due to age hardening if these have been stood in a garage for a few years)....honestly, I think you were better off with your regular summer tyres......

I have just wrecked (yet) another 100HP tyre on a Devon pothole. Front left sidewall pinched. I fitted the get-you-home spare which as the hard and narrow original 07 tyre. The front right has a nearly new 195-50-R15 so I went carefully. Braking on a muddy back lane had the ABS kicking in very easily but it was the RHS wide wheel that was slipping not the ancient narrow spare tyre.

Original OP here, long time no forum!
They did fit and have been on the car since then really. Mam has done so few miles due to lockdows etc that she's kept them on since then.
They look pretty beefy. I wanted to keep them just as 'steelies' as i thought they looked good but she insisted on putting some wheeltrims on, so it was done.

I've been out of the Fiat fold since selling my Panda 100HP approx 5 years ago....but one day...one day...i want a Panda Twinair........one day.....
